Lighthouse Point

Those of you who know me know that I am fascinated by lighthouses.  There is something about a building, often on a cliff or in a remote area at the edge of the sea, shining a light to guide ships and keep them safe.  A "guiding light"...such a special and much-needed abode.

In fact, several years ago, my kids gave my husband and me a night in a lighthouse for our anniversary.  We drove to the San Francisco Bay, took a skiff (little boat) to a very small island in the middle of the Bay, and disembarked at the East Brother Lighthouse.  We had a wonderful tour of the lighthouse, had a magnificent dinner and a fabulous breakfast the next day.  The lighthouse and it's keepers were charming and beautiful - perfect in every way...except...we were there on March 27, just before the foghorn stops blaring every 30 seconds for the summer!  So it was not the most restful night 😕 but it WAS a fabulous experience, and one which I will never forget!

Today's card features Lighthouse Point and the Lighthouse dies:

I made this card for my dad for Father's Day.  I framed a small piece of New Horizons Designer Series Paper with Night of Navy cut with the new Deckled Rectangles dies.  This was added to the Thick Basic White card base, topped with a piece of Basic White that was embossed with the Into the Clouds embossing folder.

I used the Lighthouse dies to cut the lighthouse - a Night of Navy base with an overlay of Basic White.

The greeting was stamped in Night of Navy ink and cut with another of the dies in the set.  And a few of the now-retired Waves Rhinestones were added for a little bling.

This set of stamps and dies will be used often to remind me of a very special night!

Tree Lot Sneak Peek

Last week I showed you a sample using the Tree Lot dies, and today, for my last entry into Sneak Peek Week, I have one more.  Tree Lot dies are a FREE offering with a qualifying order during Sale-a-Bration, which starts Friday.  The dies coordinate with Trees for Sale, a stamp set featured in the July - December 2022 Mini Catalog, but can also be used by themselves.

I CASED (Copy and Share Everything) a card from the Sale-a-Bration brochure, and had a blast doing so:

I love this little trailer!

Cut with Real Red and Gold Foil cardstocks, I added a small piece of So Saffron under the window.  A Scalloped Contour die helped me make the eyelet curtain!

The sky was created with a Blending Brush and Starry Sky ink.

And look at those little lights - cut with the dies and then I added a Champagne Rhinestone to each socket.

The greeting is from the Sweet Candy Canes stamps, also from the July - December 2022 Mini Catalog.

The July - December 2022 Mini Catalog and the Sale-a-Bration brochure go live on Friday, July 1.  Be sure to pick up your Tree Lot dies so you can create little scenes for the holidays and beyond!

More Hippest Hippos Sneak Peek

Yesterday I showed you a cute card made with Hippest Hippos, a FREE offering from Sale-a-Bration.  Today I have the bag I created for a baby shower to coordinate with the card:

This is a plain white, handled gift bag, and I decorated the front to look like a stage for a ballet.  Since I was gifting the book Angelina Ballerina to a new mom-to-be for her baby girl, I thought this would be a cute way to add to the baby shower gift.

I stamped, colored and cut two Hippos, using the Hippo dies for cutting and for the hearts and flowers above them.  Then I used some retired designer paper to create a stage floor and the curtains; the Scalloped Contours dies helped with the scalloped "curtain" across the top.

Stamps and dies are not just for cards!  Gift items, home decor and little treats are SO fun to make!  What other items have you stamped?

Sale-a-Bration and the July - December 2022 Mini Catalog starts Friday, July 1.  Be sure to pick up these little cuties, Hippest Hippos, FREE with a $50 qualifying order (the dies are extra, also FREE with a $50 purchase).

Sneak Peek - Hippos!

OK, get ready to squeal!  This is one of the cutest cards I've made in a while:

Don't you agree?  And to make it even better, the stamps and the dies for the little hippo are FREE!

I needed a baby card for a neighbor's baby shower, and it was requested that we bring a book for the baby girl.  My daughter's favorite book as a child was Angelina Ballerina, and I thought this card would go well with the book.

Sale-a-Bration starts this week (July 1) and the Hippest Hippos stamps are FREE with a $50 purchase.  The Hippo dies are also FREE with a $50 purchase, and I just had to have both.

I stamped the hippo in Tuxedo Black ink and colored her with Stampin' Blends.  Once cut out with the dies, she was adhered to a Basic White layer, cut with the Deckled Rectangles dies.

And that greeting!  From Charming Sentiments, which has coordinating Sentiments Silhouettes dies, it was stamped in Tuxedo Black, then popped up on Mini Dimensionals

Inside, another greeting from Charming Sentiments (this is such a wonderful set!), with a pretty layer of Flirty Flamingo.

The July - December 2022 Mini Catalog will be available for orders on Friday, July 1.  And with every $50 purchase, you can order a FREE product from the Sale-a-Bration brochure.
