What will they think of next?

Oh my, Paper Pumpkin is about to hit another one out of the park!  They just keep getting better and better!  First we had Shelli's kit with beautiful vintage cards.  Then came the Little Smile kit with mini tropical-themed cards that we have all loved handing out as random acts of kindness.  July's kit is sure to wow, coordinating with THREE suites from the Annual Catalog (July's kit is on it's way, so I'll have more details soon).

And now there's been a little hint dropped about the August kit.  Look at this:

So not only will we get 6 adorable treat bags and tags, but we'll have enough left over supplies to make a bunch of cards with the optional add-on kit.  This has never been done before, so it's pretty exciting to see.

Details on the August kit:
  • The August kit includes 6 gift bags and 12 gift tags. To receive this kit you must subscribe (or have an active account) by August 10.
  • The Gift of Fall Add-On Bundle is a separate purchase for those who would like to convert their August Paper Pumpkin kit into cards.
  • The Gift of Fall Add-On Bundle card designs offer a great sneak peek of the designs and elements to come in the August kit.
  • Once you have completed the August kit, you will have extra kit components so you can easily combine them with the add-on without having to purchase additional kits.
  • Just as you would with any other Stampin’ Up! product, you will need to purchase the add-on bundle through your demonstrator or the online store. You will not be able to add it to a Paper Pumpkin subscription purchase.
  • The price for the add-on bundle is $10.00 usd/$13.00 cad and is available for active Paper Pumpkin subscribers only. This add-on is available beginning August 1, while supplies last!
  • The Gift of Fall Add-On Bundle is not needed to complete the August kit projects.
I'm already looking forward to seeing this fabulous add-on!

Be sure to sign up for Paper Pumpkin by August 10th to get in on the fun.  Click here for details.

Cuckoo For You

Who remembers cuckoo clocks?

When I was a little girl, my mom had a clock on the wall of our dining room.  Every hour, this little door would pop open, a little bird would come out on a platform, and it would "cuckoo" for every hour of the time.  These were probably all the rage, but I think it would drive me crazy now.

However, Stampin' UP! came out with an adorable stamp set, Cuckoo For You.  And this video shows you a way to make an adorable interactive card with this set and the coordinating Cuckoo Clock dies.  Take a look:

Like what you see?  Want to create one of your own?  Order you Cuckoo for You Bundle now (and save 10% when you purchase the stamps and dies together!).

Leftover Letters?

So what do you do with the leftover letters you cut out?  I made this anniversary card for my sister,

and since I used the negative space (after cutting out the letters) I had leftovers.  So what did I do?
I made another card:

This is for my granddaughter's birthday.  She's turning 17, so I thought a little tropical card would be lovely.

The card base is Basic Black.  I took a piece of Pool Party cardstock and cut out the silhouette of the palm trees using the new Friendly Silhouettes dies.  LOVE!

Next I swiped my Whisper White craft ink pad across the Pool Party (can you see the faint lines?) to make it look like a tropical sky.  Then I adhered the Pool Party piece to my Basic Black, creating the silhouetted palm trees.

The letters were added with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, and I cut a few clouds  with retired Umbrella Weather dies.

Finally I heat embossed "birthday" (from Beautiful You) with some old Pool Party Embossing Powder.

I think Izzie is going to love this card!  Don't you?

What a Bright Anniversary!

Last week I shared some cards on which I used the new Pigment Sprinkles from Stampin' UP! You can see them here. I couldn't stop playing with the sprinkles, so today I'm going to share another card, this time for my sister's anniversary:

These colors are SO vibrant and gorgeous!

I started with some Watercolor paper, spritzing it thoroughly with water.  Then I just dropped a few crystals (Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight and Mango Mandarin) on the page and watched them explode into glorious color!

The Hand-Lettered Prose dies helped me spell "happy"; layering my colored sheet over black made them pop!

I heat embossed the "anniversary" (from Well Said) using black embossing powder on Melon Mambo cardstock, cut out with the Stitched Rectangle dies.  And the little black hearts were cut with the Stitched Labels dies.

I just finished with a little bling!

Come back tomorrow, when I show you another card I made with the leftover letters.  I couldn't throw them away when they were so beautiful!

Things are Looking Up!

Are you new to stamping?  Do you need a quick gift?  Do you want to craft but don't want all the supplies?
I have one word for you:  KITS

An all-inclusive kit by Stampin' UP! can be the answer to all these questions.  And I have a really cute one for you:

I recently made this kit to have on display for my Open House.  And I love it!  The cards are easy, but adorable, and there's just enough pizzazz to satisfy even the most avid crafter!  And this kit would be a perfect gift for a new stamper, a busy mom, or a newly retired person who is looking for a hobby.  It comes with everything you need to create 15 cards, 5 each of 3 designs!

Let's take a closer look; here are the five cards I made with this kit, following the included directions:

Check out the fabulous kits available in the Annual Catalog (pages 201 - 203).  You won't be disappointed!

Take a Ride With Me

Ride With Me reminds me of one of my favorite old/retired sets, whose name escapes me (I hate getting old! 😟).  But I loved it it then, and I'm going to love this one now.  Take a look:

Is that not the cutest little pick up truck?

I pretty much CASED this card directly from the Annual Catalog (page 55), with some color changes.  I needed some quick cards for my Open House display, and this one was perfect.

Although I don't pay too much attention to "trends" (I love getting old!  😁) I hear that red pick-up trucks are all the rage right now.  So I colored my little truck with Stampin' Blends in Real Red, Basic Black and Smoky Slate.

I LOVE the new Brights Designer Series Papers, as they all come with a gingham pattern (is that another trend?).  And Coastal Cabana is one of my favorite colors!

I suspect you'll be seeing more of my little trucks; this is just too much fun to play with!
