A Valentine?

It's almost time to celebrate that "day of love", Valentines Day.  And in my Cards-by-Mail this month, I had a Valentine card.

Since a traditional Valentine is not really my cup of tea, I did not purchase the stamps that were (are) available in the January - June 2022 Mini Catalog.  I did, however, get some of the Sweet Talk Suite products, including the Sweet Hearts dies, the Gingham embossing folder, and the Sweet Talk patterned paper.  I knew I could make Valentines to satisfy my card club "obligations" with these products, and didn't need stamps I really did't want.

My focus was the little envelope from the die set.  Isn't that sweet?  And it can be used for many occasions when "sending thoughts", "sending love", or "sending birthday wishes".  And here we stuffed it with hearts, cut from the Sweet Hearts dies, and tied it all up with a twine bow.

I love the patterned paper!  And it isn't red or pink!  The Highland Heather makes a non-traditional Valentines Day card, and I added the striped pattern after cutting it with the Basic Borders dies.  Just a fun touch when using multiple patterns of the papers.

So what do you think?  Am I a Valentine scrooge?  Or does this sweet card fit the occasion even though there isn't a red or pink theme?  I think it's perfect!  ðŸ’œ

More Leftovers

I'm still playing with rainbow leftovers from a class I held this month!  My goodness, I didn't realize just how many rainbows I cut out.  But I love using the white arcs to create new cards.  Take a look:

Don't you love bright, cheery cards?  I used the FREE Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Paper, currently offered during Sale-a-Bration, for my inspiration.  Then I used my Stampin' Blends to color the arcs, after adhering them - temporarily - to a piece of Post-It Tape.  Once colored, I glued them to a left-over Basic White Layering Circle.

I love that greeting!  It's another FREE item from Sale-a-Bration, Special Moments.  This is a total "must-have" stamp set, with sentiments for all sorts of occasions.

And I love scallops!  So that Basic White circle was layered on a Night of Navy scalloped Layering Circle, and I used the Scalloped Contours dies to make the Granny Apple Green layer.

I had such fun making this card, I decided to use my last rainbow arcs for one more:

This time in my favorite color, Polished Pink!  Same idea:  rainbow colored with Blends, added to a circle with scalloped layer, and this time a pink scalloped layer using the 2021- 2023 In-Color patterned paper pack.

The little clouds are from the Brilliant Rainbow dies, and are cut from the same designer paper as the pink layer.

The Brick and Mortar embossing folder and a Polished Pink ribbon make the card special!

I just can't get enough of these rainbows!
