More Eastern Palace

Yesterday I shared a video from another Stampin' UP! demonstrator (who obviously has much more time than I do, as her video is SO well done and loaded with ideas) about the wonderful Eastern Medallions thinlit dies that are part of the Eastern Palace Suite of products, coming May 1st.  I have already shared two cards that I have created from this suite (see them here and here), and today I've got a beauty for you; take a look:

Now I really wish you could see this in person...it is SO shiny and sparkly!

I had been playing with the dies, and created a black square with the die cut out of the middle.  It was so interesting that I decided to use it as my focal point.

I started by taking the little corner-sprinkle stamp and stamping it with Versamark ink, then heat-embossing it with Gold Embossing Powder.  And while I had the embossing powder out, I also stamped/embossed the sentiment and cut it out with the Stitched Shapes (circles) framelits.

Then I began to layer...

The sentiment was adhered to a circle of Gold Foil, and it is centered on the medallion with Dimensionals.  I also had a very skinny circle of Gold Glimmer paper lying on my desk--it was a perfect addition around the sentiment!

Under the medallion cut out is a piece of Gold Foil.  This is layered on a square of Basic Black, and then it's all popped up (with Dimensionals) on a square black card base.  But something was missing...

The Eastern Gold Vinyl stickers that come in the suite are amazing!  See that border?  I used the stickers and laid them around the edge of my card--a beautiful finishing touch!

As stated, this is a truly elegant, yet glittery, card.  The photos don't show off the beauty of it - :(

The Eastern Palace Suite of products is available tomorrow, May 1st!  Here are the order details:

Eastern Mediallion Video Share

A video from another Stampin' UP! demonstrator (thanks, Barb Mullikin) popped up on You Tube the other day, and I wanted to share this with you.

I have been blogging about the wonderful new product suite, Eastern Palace, that is going to be available on May 1st (see here and here).  And I have more samples to share with you, but when I saw this video, I thought the best thing to do would be to share this and you can see all the wonderful ideas for this suite.

I'll have more projects tomorrow, as I've been having such a great time with these stamps and dies.  So check back; and if you're ready to purchase this fabulous suite of products, I'll have the ordering information for you on May 1st!

Enjoy!

OMG! A Wooden Crate Die? Spoiler Alert--Sneak Peek!

Yes!  A die to make little crates!  OMG, this is the cutest!

Being introduced in the new Annual Catalog (coming June 1st), this adorable die is sure to make a hit!  And what makes it even better?  Double-sided paper that looks like wood!  A natural for cutting out and assembling this die to make it look like a wooden crate.  Just imagine all the gift-giving possibilities.

This was one of the samples from the recent On Stage event in San Diego.  Although I was not able to attend, I WAS able to participate in the purchase of preview products, and this was tops on my list.

Combined with a wonderful stamp set, Wood Words, it's easy to make note cards to present in the crate:

Aren't they cute?

And wrapped up:

Catch the little tag:
And tied with brand new Copper ribbon--wowsers!

You're gonna love this set.  I can't wait to play with it more--watch for more samples coming soon!

RAWR! (Dinosaur for Happy Birthday, Nate!)

It's my grandson's 4th birthday, and I have a special card for this dinosaur-loving boy:

Yes, Nathan loves his dinos, and I had this set all picked out and waiting for his birthday.  Here's what I did:

I started with a modified "card-in-a-box" template.  I had experimented with this design once before (see this card), and used the same idea but made it larger in order to accommodate four dinosaurs.  This card is 5" long and 1" wide; it's 3-1/2" tall.  Basic black cardstock was used for the base, and I covered the entire box with (retired) designer series paper.  It looks like a jungle.

Then it was on to the dinosaurs.  No Bones About It is a terrific set, and the dinosaurs can be stamped with or without their bones/skeletons.  I chose "without" for this card.  Each dino was stamped (Cajun Craze, Tranquil Tide, So Saffron and Old Olive) and then cut out using my contraband dies from Dies by Dave (horrors!  but these dies make it SO easy to get the perfect dino!).

Each dino has a party hat!   I mean, what's a birthday without party hats, right?  The dinosaurs were added to the box via "crossbeams" that run horizontally through the box--I used Glue Dots and Dimensionals to adhere them.  I also used the Succulent Framlit Dies to add a few extra leaves/food for the dinos.

Side view...

Happy Birthday, Nathan!

And happily, No Bones About It is being carried over in the new catalog, so if  you want to make your very own dino card, you can still purchase it.  All supplies used are listed below.  Click on the photo to shop in my on-line store.
