A Magical Day

Our Magical Day is just about here!  Yes, the new Occasions Catalog will be making it's debut on January 3rd, and I can't wait to share the wonderful stamps, designer papers and accessories coming our way.

One of the sets that spoke to me (actually screamed at me!) is the Magical Day stamps and Magical Mates Framelits Dies.  My two boys were huge (and I mean HUGE) Lego fans, and the characters in this collection reminds me of some of the figures they used to play with.

Today I chose to create with a unicorn...Let's have a look:

Never having been especially interested in unicorns, I can't tell you why I chose this stamp to ink up first.  But I loved the whimsical horse (with a horn) that I can color in all sorts of magical ways.

And I got to play with the new Stampin' Blends!  These fabulous alcohol markers make you feel like an artist!  I chose to use the light and dark tones of Pink Pirouette, along with both shades of Bermuda Bay.  And where did I come up with this color combination?

Looking at the wonderful (sparkly) Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper!  Can you see the iridescent glittered designs?  Such fun!

Magical Day will be here soon...

Need a catalog?  If you don't have a Stampin' UP! demonstrator, I would love to help.  Just contact me and I'll get one out to you right magic!

And don't forget!  Tomorrow (December 30) is the last day to reserve your Stamparatus!  Orders will be filled in order of reservation, but should begin shipping in February.  All you need to do is go to my online store, click "shop now" and look for the Stamparatus banner; add your credit card number (you won't be charged until the unit is shipped) and wait for your Stamparatus to arrive.

Take advantage of this special reservation period; if you miss it, you'll have to wait until the new Annual Catalog comes out in June--think of how sad you'll be when everyone else is positioning their stamps with ease!

Merry Christmas!

Just want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!  If all goes according to plan, I'll have already had my "Christmas" with all the kiddos.  We are all in Southern California, having come in from 3 corners of the US to gather for Christmas Eve.

I made some pretty gift packaging using the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper.  I cut it to fit the front of a paper "handle bag", layering the main pattern with a smaller piece of coordinating paper and a piece of retired Red Foil cut with an old Bigz die.

My label, stamped with the sentiment from Oh What Fun with an added holly leaf from Carols of Christmas was cut with the Lots of Labels dies and adhered with Dimensionals.

I tied them up with the luscious 7/8" Striped Ribbon in black and white.  I think anyone would be happy receiving a gift bag like this, don't you?

Best wishes for a joyous Christmas with family and friends!

Last Minute Treat Ideas

Time is running you still need a little gift idea?

Try this:

Made with the Gift Bag Punch Board, these come together in minutes!  They are the perfect size to give small gifts, home-baked goods or candy treats (this one holds Lindor Truffles).

Start with a piece of 6" x 12" Designer Series Paper (I used Merry Little Christmas).  Insert it into your Gift Bag Punch Board and follow the punch/score directions for a "large" bag.  Turn the paper to the opposite side (the other long side is now in the board) and punch on the same score lines, and add the horizontal score line.

Now cut off all the tabs except the largest center flap ON ONE SIDE.  Assemble the bag using Tear & Tape or Fast Fuse adhesive.  The flap that you left on the long side folds over the top.

Add a belly band--I used Merry Music Specialty DSP, cut at 1-1/4" x 12".

Stamp the sentiment from Labels to Love using Versamark ink on Real Red cardstock; sprinkle with White Embossing Powder, and heat set.  Punch out with the Everyday Label Punch and adhere with Dimensionals.  Done!

Cute, huh? Product List

My New Favorite Stamp Set

While there's lots to love in the upcoming Occasions Catalog (only another 10 days to wait!), I already have a new favorite stamp set.  Waterfront is a gorgeous group of stamps inspired by Connie Heisey, a Million Dollar Sales Achiever (can you believe that?  Wow!)

I've been playing with it, and really loving the cards I've been making.  Here's one I did for a retirement dinner for a physician with whom I've worked for 15 years:

There are 16 photopolymer stamps in this set and they allow you to create all kinds of landscapes.  Here, I've done a beach scene.  Isn't that just perfect for a retirement?

I'll be back with more ideas...this is such fun!
