Cute Notes

Do you ever need a little note card to tuck in to a package, a lunchbox, or to leave on a pillow?

I mail lots of packages, and I always like to include a little personal note.  So I've started making 3" x 3" cards, which are the perfect size to add a little creative sweetness to my boxes.

Here are my latest:

I always like a clean, fresh look, and these fit the bill.  The card base is 3" x 6" of Thick Basic White card stock, scored at 3".

For each card, I cut a Stitched Square of Basic White (these dies have been retired, but I'll never get rid of them!)  Then I simply cut the squares from Floral Squares dies, along with the matching flower in different colors.

This first one is done with Polished Pink.

This cutie used Mango Melody for the flower and the greeting.

And...

I finished this one using Fresh Freesia cardstock for the flowers, and the ink for the greeting.

These little cards take minutes to make, but will make a BIG impression when received!  Give them a try!

Tidings & Trimmings for Merry Monday

I recently challenged my Ink Masters team members to a little card-making challenge.  We played "tic-tac-toe" with this grid:

                    Ribbon                    Die Cut                    Holiday

                    Birthday                  Brights                    Flowers

                    Neutrals                   Leaves                    Embossing

The idea was to take any three entries, across, down or diagonally, and create a card.  Here is my entry:

Can you guess how I played tic-tac-toe?

If you guessed the top row, you'd be right - Ribbon, Die Cuts, Holiday

I love the FREE background paper, Peaceful Prints.  If you love it too, place your qualifying Sale-a-Bration order NOW - it ends (and this paper will no longer be available) on September 30!

I stamped the stocking and bow from Tidings & Trimmings and cut them out with the Christmas Trimmings dies.  I also cut two tags in Basic White and Shaded Spruce with the Tailor Made Tags dies.  These are so cute, with their pierced edges!

I tied some Real Red Mini Ruffled Ribbon with some White Bakers Twine to finish my tag.

The background paper was added to a skinny layer of Shaded Spruce, and then on to a Thick Basic White card base.

This card would be easy to duplicate, and with the FREE Peaceful Prints paper, is also inexpensive!  Win Win!

Don't forget Sale-a-Bration!  This is the final few days, and you won't want to miss out on FREE products with every qualifying order!

All Squared Away x 6

Last week I watched a video of Sara Douglass, CEO of Stampin' UP!, creating cards using the All Squared Away stamp set.  She stamped the squares in different colors, cut each square to 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" and used the squares on her cards.  It looked like fun, and I thought I'd give it a try.

I started by stamping each of the four squares using Gorgeous Grape, Pumpkin Pie, Bermuda Bay, Shaded Spruce, Real Red, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana and Magenta Madness inks.   Whew!  When I was finished stamping and cutting, I had 32 squares in 8 colors.  And then the fun began.

Sara made this card (using different colors):

Three of the squares with a greeting where the fourth square would be.  I loved it, so I decided to play some more.

Sara also did a card like this, using multiple squares:

Somewhat challenging, but I still like the way it turned out.

But then I was on my own, with lots of squares left, so...

I think this may be my favorite.

And with Halloween coming, and having orange and purple squares on the table:

 Fun, right?

Then I still had red and green squares, so this happened:

Can you see the squares?  I got a little creative, making strips of the squares, then cutting them in half horizontally, and adding them to the card front.

I had a good time spending an evening stamping, cutting and creating.  And ended up with 5 fun cards!  I'm a fan of All Squared Away (and the coordinating Floral Squares dies, which I did not use here), and I know I'll be playing again.

Which is your favorite?
