Triangle Trees for Merry Monday

We're coming to the end of Merry Mondays, where I post Christmas cards each week from August through December.  And today I have a cute one:

Made with the Stitched Triangle dies and some Heartwarming Hugs designer paper (my favorite!), this cute card has a few extras to make it special.

I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock and cut three of the triangles, overlapping each other.  Then I stamped the greeting from Tidings and Trimmings before running the sheet through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine with the Timber embossing folder.  I added the patterned paper behind the cut-outs of the two larger trees and then added jewels - Red Rhinestones and Basic Rhinestones.

The smallest tree was cut again with the dies and the patterned paper, then popped up over the open "hole" using Dimensionals.

Just a few more jewels, and it was on to the inside:

Layered with Real Red and adding some little ornaments from the now retired Little Treats set, makes a cute sentiment.

Have you finished your holiday cards yet?  I hope I've been able to inspire you for your next one!

Want a Mini Sneak Peek?

Ok, who wants to see a sneak peek of new products coming in the January - June 2021 Mini Catalog?  ✋

After attending a virtual 3-day program introducing the new Mini and upcoming Sale-a-Bration brochure, I was fortunate to be able to pre-order some of the products.  And the first bundle I chose was the Rainbow of Happiness Bundle, including the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set and the Brilliant Rainbow dies.  My mom, who passed away in July, loved rainbows, so this set has special significance for me.

There are 14 stamps in the set , and 10 dies, and you can create all kinds of rainbows - big, small, and in-between.

So what did I make first?

A fun set of mini cards!  I love to include a mini, 3" x 3" card when I sell retired products.  So I'm always making these, and I love how these turned out.

Using one of the dies, I cut four colors - Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Gorgeous Grape, giving me 4 sizes of each color.  I merely combined them for the cards.

The Stitched Shapes die is retired (but will never leave my stash!) and it's the perfect size for this little rainbow.  I stamped the greeting along the bottom in a color matching the largest arc of the rainbow and also made that the card base.

Then I just popped up one of the little clouds, included in the dies.  Cute?  YES!

But then I started playing a little more...

This time I stamped the rainbow and stretched out the photopolymer greeting (yes, you can alter the shape of these pliable stamps), then used a piece of the FREE Sale-a-Bration coordinating Sunshine & Rainbows patterned paper to mount it on.

And then:

This time I cut the rainbow with the largest die and some Rainbow Glimmer paper (how fitting is that?) and mounted it to a watercolored piece of Basic White.  And look at that cute border:

Mini rainbows!  LOVE!

Pop-up Gift Bag Card

UPDATE:  Video showing how to create this card is now posted; here is the link.

Here's a little twist on Merry Monday - a gift card holder with a pop-up gift bag inside!

I saw this sample on a Facebook, but had to change the measurements slightly in order for it to fit in a regular envelope.  But isn't this cute?  Let's look at the outside and then move inside:

Here is the card all wrapped up with a pretty bellyband.  The Seasonal Labels dies were perfect for the front (notice the little slits on the side that allowed me to thread a ribbon through it).  And the card uses Heartwarming Hugs designer paper throughout.

Slide off the bellyband and:

You'll notice a center-opening card; but as you open it:

Wait!  What are those ribbons?

Open the left flap and the little gift bag pops right up!   It's the perfect size for holding a gift card, certificate, money or a check.

Who wouldn't love to open this card?

Check back later this week for a video showing how to create this pop-up gift bag card.

What's Cookin'?

Do you like to cook?  Like kitchen tools?  Well What's Cookin' could be the perfect stamp set for you:

I made this card for a friend who loves to cook, and who will, I know, be making pies for Thanksgiving.  I tried to make the card look like a kitchen, with a brick background and a wood table containing all the utensils needed to bake.  Did I succeed?

Look at these adorable tools:  spatula, whisk, measuring cups, rolling pin, breadboard and a bowl, complete with a wooden spoon!

Each item was stamped and cut with the dies (except for the breadboard, which was cut and embossed with one die).  For the whisk, I cut one from Silver Foil, and a second "handle" from Soft Suede, then glued the handle over the foil.  And to get the spoon "in" the bowl, I used an exacto knife to cut a small slit in the bowl, just large enough for the spoon.  So cute!

I know my friend will love this; and I'm missing her pies!

Check out What's Cookin' and the matching Cookin' dies...and make adorable kitchen scenes for your special cooks!
