Inspiration Sunday

There's lots of inspiration all around us.  I found this ad in a magazine, and instantly recognized the colors.  Can you tell what they are?

I saw Blueberry Bushel, Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather, all new colors this year.  I thought it would be fun to use some of my new Christmas stamps and create a card using these non-traditional colors:

Dashing Deer was not on my original list to order.  But after seeing a few samples, I HAD to have it! And I'm so glad I got it; the coordinating Detailed Deer thinlits dies help make this set a stunner!

I added a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper to a base of Whisper White Thick cardstock.

The detailed deer was stamped with Gorgeous Grape ink and cut with the thinlit.  The other two (Blueberry Bushel and Highland Heather) were cut using a "bonus" die--there is no stamp for these, but the die cuts a silhouette (so pretty!).

The sentiment is from Signs of Santa; it's stamped with Gorgeous Grape ink, cut with the Stitched Labels Framelits and mounted on a scalloped circle of Dazzling Diamonds paper.

Snowflakes, also in Dazzling Diamonds, were cut using the Santa's Signpost Framelits Dies.

I love how these colors blend so nicely!  Even though the colors are not "Christmas-y" it still feels like it captures the spirit of the season, don't you think?

Where do you find your inspiration?  Leave me a comment and I'll add them to my list of places to visit for ideas.

Priscilla's Back!

Yes, after completing a "bucket list" cross-country trip, I'm back.  My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 6 weeks of traveling, visiting 10 national parks, 10 other sites, and family in Maryland, Cape Cod and South Carolina.  We drove a total of 9085 miles!  Yikes!

So now I'm back and trying to catch up.  I've got some cards and projects to show you and will begin some serious blogging in the next week.  But before I do, here's a little intro to a new product and the September Paper Pumpkin - it was waiting for me when I got home and I can't wait to dig in.

Not a Paper Pumpkin subscriber?  It's easy, there's NO obligation to continue, and you get a fun surprise each month for a little creative time.  Why not give it a try?  Click here to subscribe, or contact me to order a one- or three-month trial.  I think you'll love it!

Look at This!

This is the new Tin Tile Textured Embossing Folder, and it's fabulous:

Because I've been traveling across the country for the past 6 weeks, my embossing folder is sitting in a box in my dining room (thanks to a good friend who ran over to my house when I notified him that my order had been delivered).  Poor me!  I've been gone since the Holiday Catalog was introduced, so I had to look at it online.   But kinda lucky me - I was able to place a preorder (that's a perk we demonstrators get!) so I did it while on the road.  But poor me - the order is still in a box and won't be opened for a few more days!  Ouch!

Anyway, I've been trying to share with you some of the wonderful products available now in the Holiday Catalog.  And as soon as I get home and rip into my box, I'll be posting some samples of my own.   Probably before I even unpack my suitcase!  Or do laundry...or go grocery shopping.  No wait; I need to go grocery shopping because there is NOTHING in my frig!  But right after that, I'll rip into my box!  😁

Need a Holiday Catalog?  I've got one with your name on it - just let me know you want one!  And I'll have them for my customers at my September Card Club; details soon!

In the meantime, you can view the catalog online by clicking on the photo to the right.  And all products are available now!  Click here to place an order.  And thank you!

Sea of Textures

Here's a cute shaker card I made but never shared:

I love anything "sea"-related, and this Sea of Textures set has it all - sea shells, seaweed, coral, an octapus, fishnet and textures!  How can you go wrong?

It was easy to create a "bottom of the sea" card when you have this great set!

Soft Suede was the base of this card; I took a slightly smaller piece (4" x 5-1/4") and ran it through the Seaside embossing folder and the Big Shot for a wavy pattern.  I also cut a hole in the center using the Layering Circles Framelits dies.

I cut a larger circle from Pool Party cardstock and stamped the sea grass using Tranquil Tide ink.  Then I cut out the seaweed using the Under the Sea framelits and adhered it.  Purchasing the stamps and the framelits in the bundle saves you 10% - woohoo!

And look at these fish:

Aren't they adorable?  It's one of the framelits, which I cut from Copper Foil Sheets, and individually adhered each little fish with some Multipurpose Glue.

A piece of Window Sheet was attached to the back of my top layer, under the circle.  Using Adhesive Foam Strips, I encircled the opening; I poured some Tranquil Textures Sprinkles on the Pool Party layer and then adhered my top.

The octopus was stamped (Blushing Bride) and cut with the framelits, as was the coral (Tranquil Tide).  Hard to see, but there's a layer of fishnet under it all, also cut with the framelits.

A Dazzling Diamonds starfish and sand dollar finish my card.

These products are all available now; click on a pic below and go directly to my online store.
