Busy, Busy!

I'm still here!  But I'm prepping for a large class for tomorrow night and my craft room is a disaster!

Boxes of supplies getting ready to load into the car, two Stamparatus's, catalogs, mini catalogs, and lots of adhesive, ink and tools...

And then then card packs!  30 of them!  I've been working on this for a month and the time is finally here...by this time tomorrow night, the class will be done and I can get back to business playing with my new toys from the upcoming Mini Catalog.  Can't wait to dig in (the box was delivered while I was enjoying Thanksgiving turkey with my family) so pop back later this week and see some of the new samples I'll have using all new stamps and papers.

Small Things

Sometimes good things come in small packages.  When I found some little notepads at the Dollar Tree, I knew I could make them pretty:

These pads came 4 to a package, but they were completely plain - probably would have been fine for a guy to keep in his car to note gas mileage, but I like my notepads to be a bit prettier.  What do you think?

I started with a piece of Night of Navy that was just wider than the pad:

Measurements for these are all based on the size of the pad, but you just need to make them slightly wider and about twice as long with an extra 1/2" - 1" more.  You score it twice near the bottom of the pad so it can fold up and the short 1/2" or so folds down over the top.

Then, using a circle die that is just about the same size (or a little larger) than the width of the pad, cut a piece of the same cardstock, then cut the circle in half.  This attaches to the little flap on the top.

I used a small magnet to hold it closed, adding one with a Mini Glue Dot to the top flap, and the other under the pretty paper on the front.

Then it's time to decorate, using some patterned paper (I used Hues of Happiness here) for the front and the flap (cut a second circle, slightly smaller for the flap).  I also added a label with a greeting from Go To Greetings, and a lovely stamped and colored flower from the Happiness Abounds stamp set.

Once done, these can be wrapped in a cellophane bag and tied up with a ribbon, making a pretty present.

I love gifting these to my customers and neighbors.

Take a look in your local store for little items to decorate; your friends will be amazed!

Calendars?

If you are a customer of mine, you are probably aware of the ordering gift I send out during December, January and February - CALENDARS!

Yes, I love making little desktop calendars as a thank you to each person who places an order during these months.

So I've been playing with some designs and I've loved the way they came out.  Wanna see?

Aren't they pretty?  Let's look at each one individually.

Here's one using the Daffodil dies.  I first created the Basic White base, but before I folded on the score lines and closed it up, I added a piece of the Sun Prints designer paper that had been mounted to a slightly larger piece of Daffodil Delight.  The calendar (I order these from Tailored Expressions) was adhered to another piece of Daffodil Delight before adding it in the corner.

Then the flowers were cut with Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry and Granny Apple Green cardstock, assembled and added.  The numbers (from the now-retired Playful Alphabet dies) were cut using Foam Adhesive Sheets on the back of the Daffodil cardstock.

Then it's time to put it together; it only takes one strip of Tear& Tape adhesive, and the little calendar stands up.  Fun!  And the best thing?  These fold flat enough to place in a standard envelope for mailing!  Love it!

How about another?

This one uses so many of my favorite products!  Texture Chic DSP, Distressed Gold DSP, and the shells from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamps (Seaside Seashells dies), and gold embossing!  Beautiful!

After embossing the shells, I gave them a watercolor wash with Blushing Bride, Pool Party, and Smoky Slate inks.

And finally:

Geraniums!  ðŸ’—

Again using the Sun Prints DSP, but with Gray Granite.  The geraniums were stamped with Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizzazz for the leaves, Gray Granite for the flower pot, and a combo of Polished Pink and Melon Mambo for the flowers.  Then cut with the Geraniums dies!

I'm still playing so if you place an order you may get something different.  But which is your favorite?
