Pocket Card

I need a card for my Cards-by-Mail class and was playing with a few ideas, when inspiration hit.  I decided to try a Pocket Card.

Although I ended up NOT using it for my class (it was very involved) it IS a lovely card, and I'll share with you today:

I wanted to use the gorgeous Texture Chic designer paper (which one?  Such a dilemma, as they are all beautiful!), and decided on one with Soft Succulent accents along with gold.

I started with a pocket - I cut Soft Succulent to 5-1/4" x 8-1/2" and scored it at 1/2" and 4".  I just folded in the middle and overlapped the 1/2" edge, sealing it closed with Tear and Tape adhesive.  There is also Tear and Tape along the bottom edge, to close off the bottom.

Using the Split Card Texture dies I ran a piece of Soft Succulent through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine to create the half-grid for the front.  After adding a piece of the Texture Chic paper to the front of my pocket, I added a thin strip of Distressed Gold paper along the edge, then mounted the Split Card topper.

The flower is cut with the Poppy Moments dies using Petal Pink and Distressed Gold; the leaves are from Around the Bend dies (which emboss the leaves as they cut them!).

And that greeting?  Charming Sentiments to the rescue - heat-embossed in Gold and cut with the Sentiment Silhouette dies.

Now, where do you write your message?

Just pull the notecard from the pocket, write away, and it all fits in a standard-sized envelope.

Just another way to send a card - in a pocket!

Holy Guacamole!

OK, I told myself I did NOT need the Taco Fiesta stamp set.  Sure, it's heck-a cute, and it was designed by a fellow demo (million-dollar sales achiever, Erica Cerwin), but did I REALLY need a set of tacos?

Heck yeah!  This adorable set is so charming and fun!  I've been playing with it all week (wait til you see the fabulous card I "borrowed" from Rachel Tessman and Vy Tran!  Coming soon).

So I was having fun, and decided this needed to be a Card Club offering last week.  I DID however, make a change to the card you will see here:

OMG, is that not the cutest card?  First that bowl of guacamole - stamped and colored with Blends, but check out that little face!  Love it!

And then there's those sombrero-wearing avocados!  LOVE!

Now I did make one change -for the better - Instead of the white background with the Dots & Spots die-cut, I used Daffodil Delight.  Same card, just with a yellow layer.  This enhanced the Basic White circle AND I thought it looked like cheese - just what we need with our tacos and guacamole, right?

Inside we stamped the four corners, and a birthday greeting:

Fun, fun, fun!  I'm loving Taco Fiesta!  I know you will too!

A Seaside Fun Fold

A few weeks ago, while I was traveling, I posted a card I had received in a swap.  This card was a fun-fold, and I decided to use the fold for my Card Club ladies the other day.

From the front you can hardly tell it has an unusual fold.  You'll note the Night of Navy base with a Sahara Sand layer, then a Balmy Blue layer that is embossed, with a pretty panel on top, highlighted by seashells.

But let's take a closer look:

First, that pretty panel.  I used a piece of the By the Bay Designer Series Paper, topped with some shells (the Blushing Bride shell is from Season of Chic and is cut with the Chic dies; the others are from Seaside Bay, and cut with the coordinating dies).

And inside the oyster:

A pearl!  One attendee noted that this "takes the card over the top!" and I totally agree!

Then start to open the card:

You'll fine a Balmy Blue layer embossed with the Seashells embossing folder.

Inside:

Opened all the way, you'll find the area for your greeting, decorated with the sand and shells of Seaside Bay.

I think this would qualify as a Mother-in-Law card - there's very little space for writing!  ðŸ˜‚  But I love the fold!  Don't you?
