Christmas Cards, Part 4

This week I am highlighting cards that we made during my Christmas card class last week.  Today is Day 4, and we had a watercoloring lesson.

Starting with a piece of Watercolor paper, we used Aqua Painters and a Night of Navy ink refill to watercolor the sky.  We diluted the ink three times (making three "pools") and dipped our Aqua Painters in the lightest "pool" first, increasing the intensity of the color as we went.  While this dried, we tore another piece of Watercolor paper to make our snowy hills, stamping the greeting on one using Tuxedo Black ink.

Once our watercolored piece was dry, we adhered to a Thick Whisper White base.  Then we added our hills and trees (which were cut using a retired Card Front Builder die and Shaded Spruce card stock).  Everyone got to try the Snowfall Accents Puff Paint (and did a much more artistic snow-job on their trees than mine! 😂) and finally we added our flying Santa.

Santa was cut from the Jolly Season dies, and adhered to the front of the card.  And note the Red Rhinestone Jewel on Rudolph's nose!

This was such a fun card, and was quite easy to complete.  If you need multiples, give it a try!

Christmas Cards, Day 4

We're at the midpoint of my week of Christmas cards, and today I'm showcasing a crowd favorite:

Everyone loved making this card.  If you saw my post yesterday, you'll remember that we punched a tree from a square of Wrapped in Plaid designer paper.  The tree was saved, and used to make this easy card.

Like yesterday's card, our colors are Shaded Spruce, Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White, colors suggested in the DSP.

The Whisper White layer was embossed with the now retired (oops!  I hadn't realized that!) Cable Knit embossing folder.  It's layered on Cherry Cobbler, and then onto the Shaded Spruce base.

The greeting from Perfectly Plaid was stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink, and two Gold Metallic Pearls were added for a little bling (a few of the attendees decorated their tree with the pearls - so cute!)

Quick, easy, and SO cute!  I am loving Wrapped in Plaid!

Christmas Cards, Part 3

Continuing the parade of Christmas cards from my class last week, here is one we made using the Wrapped In Plaid bundle:

Lots of gold and embossing!

We started with a Stitched Shapes square of  the Wrapped in Plaid designer paper, and punched the tree out of the center, using the Pine Tree Punch.  (We saved the tree).

On a small square of Whisper White, we stamped the tree from Perfectly Plaid using Versamark ink, then heat embossed it with Gold embossing powder.

We also stamped the greeting and embossed it on Shaded Spruce cardstock:

Everything was layered - Gold Foil, Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce were our colors for this card.

And our punched tree gave us a head start on our next card.  Come back tomorrow to see our second card using the same suite of products.

Wrapped in Plaid is a great suite for creating traditional Christmas Cards.  And there are so many things to do with it.  Check it out!

Christmas Cards, part 2

Adding to the week of Christmas card posts, here is another card we made at my class last week:

Traditional red and green for this card, with a little Very Vanilla mixed in.  The Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper is gorgeous, and made this card come together quickly.  Mounted on a skinny later of Garden Green, and then to the Real Red card base, the designer paper comes alive.

Then let's add that wreath!

The All-Around Wreath Dies make it easy.  Just cut two (we used Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green) and layer them on your card.

We started with a punched circle of Very Vanilla, on which we stamped the sentiment from Tidings All Around, using Real Red ink.  Then we simply added our Pear Pizzazz die cut with Multipurpose Adhesive Glue and then our Garden Green layer with Mini Dimensionals.

A few Red Rhinestones and a bow, and our card was done!  Simple and beautiful - just what we need for an enjoyable holiday season!
