A Panorama Card for Merry Monday

Last week I made a Panorama card using One Horse Open Sleigh DSP.  And I asked my Facebook followers for suggestions on whether or not to add a little pick-up truck.  Initial votes were for no truck, but eventually the cuteness of the truck won.  So I posted the card with the truck, and then I got more suggestions.

So today, for Merry Monday, I am presenting the third version of my Panorama card - a truck with a trailer full of presents, driving through the snow:

I love it!

Now when I first made the card, I really liked it plain:

I didn't even want to add a greeting.

And then I tried the truck...just because...

I thought it was cute, but someone mentioned that it needed "snow" under the truck so it didn't look like it was floating.  I agreed.

But then I got to thinking...why not add lots of presents?  And:

Voila - a trailer for the truck!   Can you tell me how I did it?  (of course you can - I just cut off the back of the truck and added a little piece of black cardstock to look like the trailer hitch!). 😊

But I still needed "snow" - I tore a piece of Basic White cardstock, stamped the "road" on it and added it below the truck.

And now I'm done!  I love how it came out, and I'm so glad I had comments on how to improve my card!

And just for the record, I'm also loving Panorama cards!  They are so pretty with scenery-type paper, and are really quite easy to make.  I expect you'll be seeing more!

Ethan is a Teen!

My grandson is a teenager! However did that happen? I was in the delivery room when Ethan was born, and still can't believe it's been 13 years!

Ethan has been fascinated by space since he was just a tiny boy, telling everyone about "waxing and waning" moons before he was three. So a space-themed birthday card seemed to be the perfect choice for him.

When I saw a card by Rachel Tessman, I knew I couldn't come up with a better design, and I totally copied it. I used the Stargazing designer paper, and then created a mini envelope for a cash treat.

I changed Rachel's card in that I used the DSP for the background instead of a totally black base. The planets were cut from the designer paper using the coordinating Reach for the Stars dies.

The greeting is from Season of Chic, and is also perfect for Ethan!

And then I needed something for his present (cash - he's a teen, of course!):

Using the Mini Pocket Envelope dies (available in the Online Exclusives), I created a small gift card holder with the designer paper. Then I cut another planet and some rings, and added them to the front, along with a tiny tag.

Perfect coordination!

Stargazing is a wonderful patterned paper and is sure to thrill any planet-loving person! And the dies include several circles and ovals - they are not just for this DSP, but can be used for all kinds of projects! Check them out.

Foil for Merry Monday

Let's see a little shine for Merry Monday!  The special release Shining Christmas DSP is perfect for a holiday card!

I thought it would be fun to make a little fun fold today.  I lopped off 1-1/4" from the card front, then added a piece of the striped DSP.  Cherry Cobbler is layered on the inside, but before adhering, I attached a strip of Basic White, on which I added the beautiful frame from the Christmas Classics dies.

The pine boughs were stamped and cut with the dies, and adhered under the frame.  Then the greeting was stamped on the white label, which is a perfect fit for the frame.

I finished with Rhinestone Basic Jewels, colored with Cherry Cobbler Blends for a little bling.

And inside:

the card is finished with a holly branch and greeting.

Shining Christmas is currently available  through the Online Exclusives.  Grab it before it's gone!
