It's All About the Shoes

I'm still loving on Dressed to Impress, and here's another card to show you why:

So simple and so fun!  Don't you just love those shoes?   (Not that I want to wear them - ouch!, but they make really cute stamps!)

And look at the way they sparkle when swiped with Wink of Stella!

This card came together quickly - I stamped the front shoe, then masked it with a post-it-note that I used to cut out the shoe, and then stamped the back shoe.  They were colored with my Black and Red Stampin' Blends, and I added a "shadow" of Pool Party underneath.

The panel is cut with the Stitched So Sweetly dies, and mounted to a piece of the Sale-a-Bration Golden Honey designer paper, and then to a Whisper White Note Card.

Yeah, I'm crushin' on these stamps - and am SO glad they are carrying over to the next catalog!  Aren't you?

COVID-19 Giveback - Share Sunshine

I have a special post today.  With all that's going on in the world, Stampin' UP! has decided to try something new in order to make a charitable contribution to help in the fight against COVID-19.  Here, in their words is a little bit about what they have done:

Stampin’ Up! is committed to making a difference in our global communities and caring about people first. As part of our Making a Difference program we’re offering a product giveback opportunity to support organizations that are helping COVID-19 frontline responders and communities vulnerable to the pandemic.

What is a product giveback?  Stampin' UP! has developed a digital stamp set that can be purchased and downloaded, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to one of two charities (you get to choose which you would like to support).  When you purchase the digital stamp set, you can assign where you want your money to go.

So let's see what this is all about:
These cute samples use only a few of the digital stamps.  I purchased this set today, and had a ball making some samples to share with you.  There are 19 pages of stamped images, some black and white and some in color, and you can print them on cardstock, cut them out with dies, punches or a paper trimmer, and add them to your hand-made cards.  Some of the images are sweet and full of praise, some are poignant.  And some of these are really funny.  Take a look at just a few of the images:

Here are the fruits of one afternoon of labor.

For my grandson:

He loves dinosaurs, so I added a Dino and some flowers and leaves from Tropical Chic (on the retired list!).

For my sister and a friend:

Just had to have a little fun.

This was one of my favorite phrases (the images come with a martini glass, but I used the retired Sip, Sip Hooray and coordinating dies to make mine a little larger).

For a customer:

I used a Whisper White Note Card and Envelope for this card and the next two, making it super simple to create in no time!

For my UPS man and my mail delivery lady:

Just some DSP and a simple Thank You.

I still have lots of other images and phrases with which to play, and will be doing more tomorrow.

In this unprecedented time why not share a little sunshine with your family, friends and neighbors?  The Share Sunshine COVID-19 Giveback digital stamp set is a perfect way to stay in touch, spread a little humor with lots of thanks, and donate to a worthy cause.

To get your digital download, click here.  The cost is only $12.00--a small price to pay for a large set of images and helping others.

And please - if you purchase this download, please to not share the images with others; doing so minimizes the good these purchases do.  We need everyone to purchase their own copy.  Thanks!

Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights Winners Hop

Today I'm thrilled to be hopping with 10 other crafters, all winners in Kylie Bertucci's International Blog Highlights contest from earlier this month.  Kylie is an extremely talented Stampin' UP! demonstrator, and each month hosts a contest where paper crafters from around the world submit their creations for a blog hop.  As noted, I was delighted to have had enough votes on my card to be invited to participate today.

The theme of the hop is "Thanks", and here is my card:

I rarely have a tendency to use soft, muted colors, but these stamps just call for "soft and pretty".  Bloom and Grow is a stamp set of pretty flower arrangements, and the Budding Blooms dies make them easy to cut out.

Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the floral design in Crumb Cake ink on Whisper White cardstock, and then stamped it again with Versamark Ink.  Using the Stamparatus ensures that my image will be stamped the second time directly on top of my first image.  Then I embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder - can you see the shine?  It was easy to color within the lines with my Stampin' Blends.  Then the image was cut with the dies.

Layers, layers, layers...Crumb Cake base, with a skinny Whisper White layer.  Then Petal Pink, embossed with the Brick & Mortar folder (I inked the inside of the folder with Crumb Cake ink for a little extra dimension), followed by a strip of Whisper White embossed with the Subtle embossing folder.  But wait!  Prior to laying down the white strip I ran a ribbon around the card and through a hole on the strip, tying a bow to the left of the greeting.

A few extra leaves and some vellum sprigs were added for a little fullness.

I think "soft and muted" may be growing on me...

Thanks for visiting.  Please be sure to follow the link below and see what the other winners have created.

Friend Like You

Time to relax.  And what better way to relax than in a chair on a beach, under palm trees?

This card uses one of my favorite die sets, Friendly Silhouettes.  I had no idea where I was going when I started this card; I had merely taken some Blueberry Bushel cardstock(a retiring In Color) and cut the edge with the dies, creating two palm trees in a sea of blue.  Where to go from there?

So I adhered it to a piece of Sahara Sand, dotted with the "sand" image from Waterfront, and started building my card.  I stamped "water" with the White Craft pad and a stamp from High Tide, then sponged Balmy Blue ink onto a strip of Balmy Blue cardstock for "sky".

Now I learned something when looking at the palm tree cutouts.  I realized that the stamps from Friend Like You are the exact size to fit in the cut-out area.  So I stamped them, and cut them with the die, then paper-pieced each frond and trunk into the cut out area.  Crazy huh?  My husband thought so too when he was watching me painstakingly drop each little piece into the open hole.  😏
But I love the effect!

The birds are from High Tide, and that great chair is a die in the Seasonal Layers set (retiring!!!).  All I needed was a greeting, which is from another retiring set, Thanks for the Laughs, and punched with the Classic Label punch.

Aahhh...Now all I need is a Pina Colada!

Don't forget to look at the retiring list (here), and get what's left on your wish list.  Many items are deeply discounted!
