A CASE of a CASE

I've got a "two-for" for you today.  Actually it's a "three-for", but I'm focusing on two cards that you can make from one.  Have you heard of CASEing?  That's when you Copy And Share Everything - and today I am CASEing a CASE!

It all started last May, with a card I saw on Brian King's blog.  That's when the Paper Pumpkin featuring the 2022-24 In Colors came out.  I had a blast creating with it (you can see my samples here), but I did not use the little extra pieces that could be used to hold a gift card inside the cards.  Brian used them to make a very different card front; I loved it, so when I found those little extra pieces when cleaning out a drawer the other day, I decided to make one of my own, CASEing Brian's card:

Is that not cool?  I used the Parakeet Party and Starry Sky pockets, mounting them to the opposite color for the front of the card.

And when I cut the (retired) greeting, I did it in both colors and layered them together, creating a shadow effect.

Unfortunately, unless you still have those pocket cards from last May you can't make this card.  ðŸ˜•  So why am I showing it to you then?

Well, because this card gave me an idea of one that you CAN make.  So I CASEd a CASE.  All the supplies used on the following card(s) are available now!  Take a look:

The birthday card above gave me an idea to use opposite colors on this card.  So I started with two pieces of cardstock, black and white, measuring 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" each.  On the back side I Scotch-taped them together, and layered them on Sweet Sorbet.

I used the Sunflower dies to cut two of the large flowers and two leaves, one each in black and white.  Next, keeping the flowers together (one on top of the other, matched up perfectly) I cut them in half.  Then I just adhered one of each to the opposite colors on the card base.

I finished with a greeting from Go to Greetings, stamped in Tuxedo Black ink, and added a couple of Classic Matte Dots in the corner.

But I had another two halves of the sunflower.  What to do?  Well...here's your "two-for":

Basically the same, just reversed the colors, mounted it on Bermuda Bay with a Basic Black card base, and heat embossed the greeting.

Yep, two cards with one effort!  How about that?

Now I'm looking through all my dies to see what others I can use to make "opposite" cards!  What ideas do you have?

Chic Season

It's Merry Monday and I have a card that features the beautiful Texture Chic patterned paper along with the Christmas Season stamps:

It all started with the background paper.  I wanted to play with the Texture Chic paper, where each sheet has gold foiled designs.  But when I turned one of the sheets over, I saw this handsome design that sports a mottled wood-look.  Chic and rustic!  And the rest of the card just evolved.

I cut a tag with the Designer Tags dies, and stamped the greeting from Very Best Occasions using Evening Evergreen ink.  But it was a little too white, so I flicked some ink on it to give it a distressed look.

Then I turned to Christmas Season for some holly and a pinecone, along with a few stamped leaves and some vellum ones.

Now I'm itching to flip that patterned paper over and create with the other side!   This paper has so many possibilities!

Delightful Daffodils

I always send a thank you to my customers, and when they order a new stamp set, I try to create a thank you card with the same set.  This gives them an idea for a card, or maybe helps them see a set in a different way.

When my customer ordered the Daffodil Daydream set and the Daffodil dies, I went to work:

I created with the stamps and dies, and with just the dies.  Let's take a closer look.

First the card:

I wanted to ensure she knows how to make the various flowers in the die set.  I also had a hankering to use Gray Granite and the beautiful Sun Prints designer paper.  No plain yellow daffodils for THIS card!

The flowers were created with Petal Pink and white, and I used Evening Evergreen for the stems.  Such a striking combination!

A double bow of the Evening Evergreen ribbon (which is currently on sale in the Weekly Deals!) and a tiny tag finished off the bouquet.

The flowers were adhered to a Gray Granite card base with a layer of the Sun Prints DSP and a Basic White frame cut with the Fabulous Frames dies.

But wait!  There's more!  I wanted to include a little thank-you gift:

Using directions from Debbie Henderson, I put together this little Post-It Note pad holder.  More Evening Evergreen with a layer of the In Color patterned paper in Pale Papaya.  This time I used the flower from the stamp set, colored with Blends.

And inside...

...is the note pad.  Cute?

But I needed to wrap it so it looks pretty when she opens it:

A retired In Color Ombre Gift Bag was perfect, decorated with another stamped and colored image from the stamp set.

Doesn't this make a nice thank you?

I'd love to help you order the Daffodil Daydream set and Daffodil dies.  Click here to place your order, or contact me for assistance.
