Annual Catalog Swaps

Swapping cards is a great way to get new ideas!  Participating in a swap means you create multiple cards of the same design and then exchange them with other "swappers".  Swap 12 cards and get back 12 new ones.

I recently joined a swap group made up of Stampin' UP! demonstrators from all over the US.  When the new Annual Catalog came out in May, we had a swap of a dozen cards, all using products from the new catalog.  Today and Saturday I'll be showcasing some of the swaps I received.

So here goes:

First up is a beautiful card by Kristi Momerak.  She used the lovely Cottage Rose stamps with Sun Prints Designer Series Paper.  And look at the background - the Hive embossing folder gives this so much texture!  I also love the way Kristi stamped directly on the Natural Finish ribbon.

Don't we all need guy cards?  Tammy Dewitt created this card using He's All That stamps and the He's the Man patterned paper.  She did a great job of blocking the various rectangles of DSP, didn't she?

Can we just say, "Awww..."?  Libby Fens, of Libbystamps.com, created this cute baby card with the Happier Than Happy bundle of stamps and dies, along with the Happy Forest Friends designer paper.

Here's another lovely card using the Cottage Rose bundle, but what makes it truly stand out is the background embossed with the Timeworn Type embossing folder!  Such a gorgeous card!

Now Amanda Pitman tripped me up a little - she used Happiness Abounds for her greeting, but the background die-cut and the patterned paper is from the Awash in Beauty suite.  A beautiful card in Mossy Meadow and Merry Merlot!

One of my favorites!  Jamie Sales used Sending Smiles and my favorite new In Colors, Parakeet Party with Orchid Oasis.  So bright; she also used the Hive embossing folder, but turned the paper over so the hexagons are de-bossed (sinking in the paper instead of popping out).  Great card!

And my last one for today - LeaAnn Greff created with  Bottled Happiness, again using the 2022-24 In Colors of Parakeet Party, Island Oasis and Sweet Sorbet.  Check out her corner treatment - a skinny pop of color under the two corners makes everything pop!

So did you get some inspiration?  I know I did!  I really appreciate these women who take the time to create so that our group gets new ideas.

You know, you don't have to swap with a large group.  Just creating one card and swapping with a friend can help you see the possibilities of stamps, ink, paper and accessories that you may not have noticed.  Why not give it a try?
