A SlimLine Lighthouse

Have you heard of Slimline cards?  It seems to be all the rage right now, and although I have experimented with unusually-sized cards in the past, I always shied away from them for my Card Club creations as I didn't have envelopes for them.

Well, that has changed!  In the newest Annual Catalog, on page 137, you will find Slimline Envelopes!  A package of 15 envelopes contains 5 each of three colors - Soft Succulent, Smoky Slate and Basic White.  So imagine my delight when I was able to offer this card for my club ladies:

The Lighthouse Point bundle of stamps and dies were perfect for this card!  The large lighthouse does not dominate like it would on a smaller, standard-size card, yet it doesn't get lost on the Slimline card.

Check out the Balmy Blue background - the piece was embossed with the Into the Clouds embossing folder.  Isn't that sweet?

And the lighthouse - we added an extra "top" (cut with just the top of the large, solid lighthouse die) in Basic Black in order to set off the windows a little.

The greeting was stamped on Sahara Sand cardstock in Tuxedo Black ink.  Then we splattered a little Crumb Cake from the Stampin' Write marker to create the look of sand.

Slimline cards are approximately 8-1/2" x 3-1/2" and will make a statement to the recipient!  Why not give them a try?
