Posted Birthday
I saw this lovely card made by a fellow demonstrator, Tammy Wilson, and wanted to use the same layout. Her card was a Christmas card using the reindeer from Posted for You, (you can see it here) but I needed a birthday card. Isn't it fun that you can use similar layouts to make different cards? Here is my version:
I had a piece of leftover patterned paper from See a Silhouette (retired 😕) that I wanted to use, so I coordinated the colors to that: Misty Moonlight and Mossy Meadow, along with Balmy Blue.
Since this card has a lot of white, I lightly sponged some Balmy Blue on the Whisper White layer to make the stamped images pop. The stamps are from Posted for You, colored with Stampin' Blends, and punched with the Rectangular Postage Stamp punch - LOVE!
One layer of Whisper White is embossed with the Tasteful Textiles embossing folder. The scallops were cut with the Budding Blooms dies - I felt it mimicked the edges of the postage stamp. And I love those Blue Adhesive Backed Gems - they come in a lighter blue and a darker with an iridescent sheen. So pretty!
This is a layout I'll be using again - I love the simplicity and the ability to use it for a variety of purposes. Give it a try!

Bird Birthday
My grandson is 10 years old today. He was my first, the one to make me a grammy. And he's very special, as all grandchildren are, especially the first ones.
Ethan loves birds. It started when they visited the Grand Canyon when he was just 6, and he bought a National Audubon Society stuffed bird in the gift shop. He was so taken with this "pet" that he began to study birds. He has read extensively (his other hobby) and can tell you all about any bird in North America.
So to honor his love of birds, I made him a special card:
I think I used just about every bird stamp I own! 😄 And do you see something new? Just take a look at the "hills" - cut with a new die that will be making a debut on November 3rd. The Curvy dies will coordinate with the Quite Curvy stamp set (see the greeting?) and I know you're going to love it! Not only are the sentiments curved to match the dies, but those little birds are included. So CUTE!
I used the die with the hole-punched border with three colors of green, and then layered them to create the hills. The grass blades were from High Tide (as are the black flying birds).
Happy Birthday to my amazing grandson!
Curvy dies, Quite Curvy stamps and an exclusive Christmas set, Curvy Christmas, will be available November 3. Watch for more samples, coming soon.

Retired Birthday
Sometimes I have to go back and pull out a retired stamp set because I loved it and want to use it again. Do you relate? So when I needed a pretty birthday card for a friend, I found myself reaching for Varied Vases with the Vase Builder punch (which is NOT retired, and probably why I reached for the stamps).
I love the simplicity of this card, and that background paper is stunning! Alas, that is also retired, from the Garden Impressions pack. But a very similar color palette is in the Artistry Blooms pack of patterned paper.
I simply stamped my floral image directly on Whisper White cardstock, and cut it out with the Stitched So Sweetly dies. The vase was punched with the patterned paper, and double bow of Bakers Twine was added.
The greeting was stamped on cardstock and cut with the All Dressed Up dies, then the ends were flagged with the Banners Pick a Punch.
Inside I repeated the vase motif, punching a different vase and adding some different stamped flowers for a little variety.
What are you creating?
