Sending Hugs

I have three grandsons who are out of school for the summer.  My husband and I went shopping at a local toy store to send them something to help pass the long summer days.  Puzzles, Dominoes and a card were mailed off from "Grammy and Grumpy" and here are the cards I sent:

This started with a card base and two layers, Night of Navy and Bermuda Bay, that was left over from a class.  So I used the large "hugs" from Lovely Inside and Out to stamp an ombre layer for the center panel.  Colors are Pool Party, Marina Mist, Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo and Night of Navy.  Of course I relied on my Stamp-a-ma-Jig to line everything up perfect!

The panel was mounted on a layer of Night of Navy, and then I added two strips of 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon in Lemon Lime Twist for a pop of color.

Do you see that background?  I stamped "HUGS" in Versamark ink, again employing the Stamp-a-ma-Jig.  When I needed just part of the stamp, I grabbed some retired Washi Tape to mask off some of the stamp, inked it up, removed the tape, and stamped just the letters I needed.  Such a fun background!

I was so pleased with this card, I decided to duplicate it for my other grandson, using some new colors:

Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist this time...and for the ombre panel, I started at the bottom with Tranquil Tide.  The next one is also Tranquil Tide, but stamped off once.  Then I repeated it, but stamped off twice--using my Stamp-a-ma-Jig I stamped over it in Lemon Lime Twist.  The fourth word is in Lemon Lime Twist, full strength, and I topped it off with Lemon Lime Twist stamped off.

And for this card I added that adorable bow--the 2017-2019 In Color Bitty Bows are already tied and have a glue dot on the back; just the simple and cute embellishment I needed.

Wow, Priscilla, I love both of those color combinations!! And using Lemon Lime Twist on top of the Tranquil Tide to create a combo color...that's an awesome idea.

Oh thanks, Bonnie! Yes, I was a little pleased with myself to discover this trick--I ran out of colors but needed one more. Using the Stamp-a-ma-Jig worked perfectly!
