It's another Inspiration Sunday, and I have a beauty for you.
My sister and brother-in-law have always loved Yosemite National Park. They honeymooned there (about 36 years ago!), and go back nearly every summer. This year, to celebrate a milestone birthday for each of them, they decided to visit in March - not the time of year most people go to Yosemite, but the scenery, with all the waterfalls and possible snow, is spectacular.
My friend and colleague, Ceresa, saw my post a few weeks ago, and sent me this beautiful photo for inspiration, and I immediately thought of Yosemite:
Since I needed a birthday card for my brother-in-law, and I am still in love with the Waterfront set, I pulled it out and began to create:
What do you think?
I started with the sky:
Using a handmade stencil (using a retired scalloped circle punch with some handcutting) I sponged the clouds on Whisper White cardstock using Soft Sky ink. The mountains came next, in Smoky Slate.
The meadow uses Garden Green, stamped off, and then the trees were stamped with the same ink in full strength.
I finished with a greeting in Tuxedo Black.
The stamped panel was adhered to another of Smoky Slate, and then added to the Thick Whisper White card base.
Where have you found inspiration? Share with me, and I'll try to feature your suggestions in future Inspiration Sunday posts.
