Frosty Trees

How about a little frost for Christmas?

I added some Frost White Shimmer Paint to the background (embossed with the Evergreen Forest embossing folder) using a sponge dauber.

While hard to see in the photo, the shimmer paint gave the trees an ethereal, snow-sprinkled forest feel.  So wintery!

Of course I had to emboss the tree (Perfectly Plaid) using White Embossing Powder and a heat tool.  Then I embossed the circle with the Subtle embossing folder.

And how about a touch of plaid?  Plaid Tidings patterned paper was just the ticket!

A perfect greeting inside, stamped in Shaded Spruce!

Plaid and Plaid

When I was working on an idea for another Merry Monday, I re-discovered Perfectly Plaid, a wonderful stamp set that carried over from last year.  This cute set of 4 Christmas trees and sweet greetings also coordinates with a perfect punch!  So what would be better than pairing Perfectly Plaid with plaid?

Do you see what I did?  Pairing the tree from Perfectly Plaid with the Plaid Tidings patterned paper?  Genius, right?  😁

There's also an embossed  layer - the Whisper White is cut with the Stitched So Sweetly dies and then embossed with the Evergreen Forest embossing folder.

Then there's that Gold Hoop - and inside the hoop I sponged some Shaded Spruce ink on the embossed trees for a little "spotlighting".

The greeting, from Itty Bitty Christmas, was stamped in Shaded Spruce and "flagged" with the Banners Pick-a-Punch, then layered over Gold Foil.

Plaid with plaid - and a perfect holiday card!

Final Christmas Cards from Class

I've been sharing the cards we made at a local business, and today I have the last two - Gift Card Holders!

Everyone got to make one in Garden Green and one in Real Red.  The designer paper, Toile Tidings, is full of patterns that coordinate beautifully, so we chose one stripe (with the leaf pattern) and one check (with the scene pattern) to make our cards.

The trees were stamped and punched using the Perfectly Plaid stamp set and Pine Tree Punch.  We added a few Red Rhinestones for a little glimmer.

The neat thing about these cards is the way they open:

When the top flap is lifted, the inside actually moves, bringing the gift card up and out of the "pouch" so that the recipient can easily pull out their gift card.

In addition to the DSP and Perfectly Plaid trees, we used Stitched Rectangles for the banner.  Really great way to present a gift card this holiday season!

Everyone loved this "moving" card, and at the end of the night, all the gals left with 8 Christmas cards and memories of a fun evening of stamping together.  It doesn't get much better than that!

My thanks to Pacific Lifestyle Homes for allowing me to come into their break room and stamp cards--it was a wonderful event!
