So each year I try to make it special for him. We go out to breakfast AND dinner, I don't do ANY shopping (or returns!...and let me tell you - that's a sacrifice!), and I always make him a special card.
Jim is a musician. He played classical guitar when I met him (oh so long ago!) and has been playing the electric bass for several years, enjoying his five minutes of fame in two bands. But since we have moved to a new state, he has not found anyone new to play with, and he's started picking up his classical guitar again.
So imagine my delight when I saw a new stamp set, Music From the Heart, inspired by special Stampin' UP! demonstrator, Dawn Olchefske. This set is beautiful, with a focus on music. And I made this for my first card:
Simple in black and white, it really makes a statement! I stamped the guitar on Whisper White paper using Tuxedo Black ink. The sentiment, also from the set, is also stamped in black.
And see that striped paper? Fabulous and FREE during Sale-a-Bration, starting January 3rd. It's the Golden Honey Specialty Designer Series Paper, and can be yours for FREE with a $50 purchase.
Many of the included sheets have a honeycomb design, and some have lovely gold foil accents, but this one is just a perfect black-and-white stripe. I stamped music notes (from the stamp set) at random across the front before mounting my focal panel.
And before you go, you have to see the inside:
That says it all!
Happy Birthday, Jim! I hope you enjoy many, many more years of music!
