A Valentine for Freshly Made Sketches

Time for a Valentine.  I've been playing with some of my new "toys", and designed a few Valentine cards for my classes.  Then I saw this sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and decided to play along.

I liked the simplicity and had some great new Designer Series Paper, Stacked with Love, and came up with this:

I love Just Sayin', and thought this fit the bill nicely for both the sketch and a Valentine.   The pretty designer paper steals the show, but it's tempered with a cute scalloped edge and the simple sentiment.

To get it perfectly centered, I first stamped "Love ya" in Real Red ink right where I wanted it on the DSP.  I then used the Word Bubbles Framelits to cut out the shape.  "Love ya" was stamped again in Read Red on Whisper White, and attached to the DSP with Dimensionals.  The little banner uses a sentiment from Good Greetings in Real Red, with a perfect flag punched with the Hexagon punch.  A petite bow (Real Red 1/8" Taffeta ribbon) finishes it all off.

But I couldn't stop there.  I also love another piece of the DSP--white with little tiny red hearts, so I made this:
This one has a Whisper White base, and because the pattern is more subtle than the sample above, the "Love ya" seemed to disappear in the center of the card.  I cut another word bubble, and traced around the metal edge of the framelit--this was paper-snipped to create an outline of the bubble, drawing attention to the center of the card.

I asked my husband which he liked better--his choice was the more subtle, tiny hearts pattern, while I like the "scream-in-your-face" red one.  Which is your favorite?

Won't you leave me a comment and let me know?

The red and white is so crisp! I like them both but if I had to pick one I would pick the screams one. :). Thanks for sharing them at FMS!
