More Valentines

It's almost here--Valentines Day!  And I have another post of Valentines goodies that I'll be sharing with my friends at work.

Doesn't this look yummy?

The box is filled with treats.  The January Paper Pumpkin was the perfect way to get my Valentines creative juices flowing. 

This adorable (and oh, so simple) project was such fun to make.  The kit brought everything I needed right to my door--24 cello bags, 24 white hearts, 24 tags, 24 clips, glue dots and a fabby roll of pink and gold Bakers Twine.  The stamps are so cute:  hearts and phrases just perfect for sending love!  All this plus a Real Red ink spot! 

Once these little darlings were ready to go, I still had pretty M&M's left over, so I decided to make some matchbook holders.

These are really easy:  Just cut your cardstock to 2-3/4" x 7-1/4".  Score at 3", 3-1/2" and 6-3/4". 

I stapled the M&M's treat size bags inside, then folded over and inserted the top flap into the bottom.  Decorations can be whatever you like--I used the beautiful Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper.  Some of my treats were stamped with the Paper Pumpkin stamp, and others just let the flowers be the focus.  A few got special treatment with a Papillon Potpourri butterfly.

These are all going to work with me and I'm sure the recipients will enjoy them!

Gift Decorating

I love to give pretty presents.  I tend to purchase all kinds of wrapping paper (LOVE double sided wrapping paper!), ribbon and gift bags.  I also like to create my own wrappings.

A recent Paper Pumpkin offering (and one of my favorites) came with gift bags to decorate.  I ended up buying the refill kits (as a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you have access to refill kits for purchase), so now I have a whole bunch of craft "shopping bags" to play with. 

I pulled one of these out when celebrating a birthday.  Look:

Using the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, I created a pocket on the outside of the bag.   This was decorated using Four Feathers, Borderettes, Burlap Ribbon (LOVE!), Blackberry Bliss Stitched Satin Ribbon, and the Autumn Wooden Elements. 

But wait!  There's more!

Because the vellum is "see through" I needed a fun card to go inside:

Using the File Tab Edgelits, I cut a piece of Naturals White cardstock, and stamped "Cheers!" from And Many More on the tab.  Then I made a mask (just used a rectangle die in the center of a piece of cardstock, placed the negative space of the mask over my card), and took my Aquapainter to scribble ink across the center (Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist and Mossy Meadow).  Then I stamped "it's your birthday" from Big News right over the color wash.

Once the card is inserted into the pocket, the color shows through, and the tab makes it easy to pull out.

Gotta go make some more bags!

I actually squealed when I opened my little orange box today...this is the cutest Paper Pumpkin yet!  Can't wait to make mine (and fill it with Thanksgiving treats for the kiddos), and I'll be coming up with a few extra ideas for our Pumpkin Pals this month.

Thinking Outside the (Orange) Box

My Pumpkin Pals had fun with our September Paper Pumpkin Kit.  Not only were we able to prepare some really cute burlap treat bags, but we also created some extra projects.  Take a look:

An alternative tag, using the Scalloped Tag Topper punch and some White and Tangerine Tango Two Tone Trim.

This is a 3x3 card; the bottom was punched using the Confetti Stars Punch and backed with Tangelo Twist card stock.

A Halloween greeting card, with some additional Washi Tape!

And straying away from the Halloween theme, to show the versatility of our stamps, here's a cute Birthday card.  We only inked and stamped the "Happy" from the "Happy Halloween" stamp--the photopolymer stamps (completely clear!) make it so easy!

Pumpkin Projects

Have you heard of My Paper Pumpkin?

Our June kit was wonderful--pinwheels for the 4th of July.  But I didn't stop at pinwheels...take a look at what else I was able to make from my kit:

 First up is the actual pinwheel and goodie bag that the kit is meant to make.  There are 24 pinwheels (so easy to put together with the large brad--included).  This is attached to a striped straw and then I put some patriotic gummy bears in the included goodie bag, tied it up with the (included) bakers twine, stamped the stars (stamps included!) with Night of Navy (included ink spot) and clipped it to the bag with (you guessed it--the included) clips!  So cute!

But wait...there's more:

I took a few of the pinwheels and used them for a decor item--just had to add a little crimped and crumpled red cardstock to my vase and voila--instant centerpiece!

Then I added a wall decoration:

By cutting up one of the red pinwheel pieces, I made a banner (with the "included" bakers twine).

And finally (because I'm an over-achiever):

This cute paper wreath!  Just took a wreath form, pinned 12 of the pinwheels to it, and made a little banner using the (included) paper straws and (included) banner strips!
