Eastern Beauty, Where Have You Been?

As Stampin' Up! is about to start a new year (June 1st), I know that several of the stamps I currently own will be retired.  So I'm trying to show them a little love, even though I don't know which will disappear.  But I pulled out Eastern Beauty, and fell in love all over again.

I was experimenting with a fun fold, and wanted to use some designer series paper.  I know that Eastern Palace will be retired (DSP never carries over from year to year - WITH the exception this year of Wood Textures, which we have been told WILL carry forward).  But I love these colors, and decided to work with the coordinating stamp set, Eastern Beauty.

Oh my!  I love this card!

Let's break it down.

1.  The Fold - I took a piece of Dapper Denim cardstock, cut 4-1/4" x 11" and scored it at 1-7/8" and 7-3/8".  This creates a regular 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" card when folded, but there's a different opening:

See?

2.  The colors - Lemon Lime Twist and Dapper Denim, with Very Vanilla.  Luscious!

3.  That medallion!

I stamped the sentiment on Very Vanilla and cut it out with the coordinating Eastern Medallions Thinlits.  I punched a circle of Dapper Denim with the 1-3/8" circle punch to place behind it.  Then I used Lemon Lime Twist to create another medallion, layering it over a circle cut with the Layering Circles dies in Denim.  Stunning!

4.  The foil - The Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers make a beautiful border:

5.  Accessories - The lovely (and very easy to tie) Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon and some In Color Enamel Shapes perfectly finish off this card.

6.  But wait!  There's more!  - The Inside

Perfect corners using two of the small stamps make a nice detail for the inside of this card.

Eastern Beauty and the coordinating Eastern Medallions are offered as a bundle - get them now and save 10%, because, why wouldn't you?

Dapper Denim is one of the retiring In Colors this year.  If this is one of your favs, please stock up now.  Once it's gone, it's gone, and the 2016-18 In Colors (Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Emerald Envy, Dapper Denim and Sweet Sugarplum) will disappear quickly once the retirement list comes out next week.  So don't delay!

A Visit to the Palace

It's been a few weeks since I've worked with the Eastern Palace Suite, so let's go back there again:

I wanted to use some of the Eastern Gold Vinyl Stickers, so I pulled out my Tranquil Tide and started stamping a pattern.

I stamped, using Tranquil Tide ink, lining up the pointed edge of the stamp from Eastern Beauty, and then filled in with the little decorative half "flower".  Once done I added some of the stickers.

I cut two squares with Gold Foil sheets, and mounted my pattern-stamped piece to Gold as well.  This was all adhered to a Tranquil Tide base.

I embossed the words using Gold Embossing Powder and my heat tool.

The finishing touch was the Gold 1/8" ribbon and a tassel from the Mini Tassel Assortment.  Shiny and pretty!

Oops; forgot to add the Vinyl Stickers to my product list.  They can be ordered using product number 144150, and can be found on pages 19 and 196 of the annual catalog.

Back to the Palace

Yes I have another Eastern Palace Suite card for you today.  But first, I want to start by wishing all moms a Happy Mothers Day!  I do hope you get to spend some time with your special peeps, be it in person or by phone.  Mine are all grown and gone, so phone calls/Face Time will make it a special day.

Today I have one more Eastern Palace card for you.  I think this is my favorite of all the ones I've brought you so far (although I think I said that about each and every one!  See them all here, here, here, and here ). What do you think?

This one is full of details.  First up are those Gold Vinyl Stickers--wowsers!  What a treat to use!  I stuck two of them on some Night of Navy cardstock and cut them out using the matching thinlits dies.  They were cut using TWO dies--the outside and the inside, and they match up perfectly to the stickers!  So gorgeous!
I also cut the outside medallion using Lemon Lime Twist, and layered them together.  A Gold Faceted Gem added to the center of the medallions made the perfect blingy, finishing touch!

Make this card:
1.  Start with Lemon Lime Twist cardstock, cut to 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
2.  Add a 1" x 5-1/2" strip of Night of Navy to the left edge; top it with a 3/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper
3.  Cut a 3-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Night of Navy; heat emboss the sentiment using Versamark ink and Gold Embossing Powder.  Stamp small flourish in each corner (Versamark) and emboss with Gold; then stamp the dotted circles, using Night of Navy ink randomly on the panel
4.  Add medallions
5.  Add panel to card front
6.  Tie the gold tassle with a bow of Gold 1/8" ribbon; adhere to card using Glue Dot
7.  Add Gold Sequins to card front using Fine Tip Glue
8.  Sigh, smile and admire your work!

The Eastern Palace bundle is now available.  See my post here for details on how to order.

Eastern Palace - Can't Get Enough!

The Eastern Palace Suite (to be introduced in the new Annual Catalog, starting June 1st, but early-released as a bundle and NOW available) has been pulling my heartstrings.  I just can't stop playing with it!  Usually, when I get some new stamps, dies, or Designer Series Paper, I make a sample or two, and then move on to other "toys".  But for some reason, this suite of magnificent products just keeps calling my name.

I've already shared samples (here, here,  here, and here) and now I've got another beauty (get it?  Eastern "beauty") for you; looky here:

I LOVE this card!  And once again, it almost built itself!  The wonderful Eastern Medallions Thinlits were the jumping off point--here I stamped the flower medallion using Pumpkin Pie ink on Peekaboo Peach, and cut it out with the matching thinlit die.  The "petals" of this die lift up; it looks great with a contrasting color under the petals.

The card base is Thick Whisper White.  It's wrapped with a piece of In Color Designer Series Paper in Peekaboo Peach.  In the "v" at the top and bottom, I stamped the "scattershot" in Peekaboo Peach.

The medallion is mounted on a piece of Whisper White, which is layered onto Elegant Eggplant.  The little floret is tamped in Lemon Lime Twist around the medallion, and the sentiment is stamped in Elegant Eggplant below the medallion.

A simple punch of Lemon Lime Twist layered with a slightly smaller one of Elegant Eggplant and topped with a White Perfect Accent finished my card.

There are three ways to purchase this product suite.
