Another Anniversary

June is such a busy month for my family!  We have several anniversaries and birthdays at the beginning of the month, and we can't forget Father's Day...lots of opportunities for card-making!

I'm finally sharing a card I made for my son and daughter-in-law's anniversary.  Evan and Christy were married 18 years ago (so hard to believe!) and they are such a beautiful couple.  So I think they deserve a beautiful card:

I was so happy with the way this turned out!

I started by stamping the large image from the Layers of Beauty stamp set.  Then, using the coordinating masks, I colored it using Blending Brushes and a few shades of reds and greens.

But I couldn't stop there, even though the image was gorgeous enough to just layer on a card base.  I cut the image with the Layers of Beauty dies, and popped it up over a layer of cardstock embossed with the Exposed Brick embossing folder.  So pretty!

I wanted to bring out the greens as well as the reds, so I added an extra layer of Garden Green cardstock before mounting on a Real Red card base.  All this needed was a few Red Rhinestones to finish it off.

But the inside:

I stamped the sentiment with a tiny flower, cut it out and layered it over some green leaf die-cuts.  Just a little something special for inside the card.

Layers of Beauty is one of my favorite sets, and the masks make you feel like an artist!  The results are stunning!  Pick up Layers of Beauty today!

Friends for Life

Today is the 41st anniversary of my brother and sister-in-law's beautiful wedding.  I'll always remember how many years they've been married, as I was 7 months pregnant with my daughter.  I can still recall the dancing and how I threw that baby bump around!  So fun!  (And she loves to dance! - could it have anything to do with that day?)

I pulled out the fun Friends for Life dies to create this:

Two big hearts - isn't that perfect for an anniversary?

I used the largest heart die to cut them using the Full of Life Designer Series Paper.  And I used another strip from the same piece of patterned paper for a strip at the bottom.

Did you notice the two-toned greeting?  I dipped half the stamp (Layers of Beauty) in Melon Mambo and the other half in Pumpkin Pie - cool!

What a pretty way to comemmorate a special day!

Season of Green & Gold

Are you ready for Merry Mondays yet?  Well, neither am I, but after playing with some new product (available July 5th) I thought I would post my pretty card.

The OnLine Exclusives will be offering some early holiday products, and my favorite so far is the Season of Green & Gold suite.  There are two stamp sets (I only bought one for now - Greetings of the Season), dies (Greetings of the Season dies) and some beautiful new designer paper - the Season of Green & Gold.

One of my favorite things about being a Stampin' UP! demonstrator is that I get to pre-order products before anyone else.  And then I get to play!

I actually used a sketch from page 22 of the Annual Catalog to make this card.  I chose two pieces of the DSP (a green plaid and one with gold-foil "stars"), layering them on a Mossy Meadow card base.

The greeting was heat embossed in gold, and cut with one of the larger dies in the set.  I wrapped some retired gold-edged ribbon through the punched hole in the label and around the first layer of DSP, fixing it under the label and tying it in a bow.  All that was needed was to add a few gold jewels.

Season of Green & Gold will be available July 5th.  But if you want to get your hands on it now, become a demonstrator and add it to your Starter Kit.  Just $99 gets you $125 in product of your choice, FREE shipping and a FREE Paper Pumpkin kit!  It's a great deal, and you'll be getting a head start on your holiday cards.  Why not try it?

Choose Happy

Whew!  I've been so busy!  June is an extremely busy month for my family, with anniversaries, birthdays and Father's Day, and I've been on a roll trying to get all my cards done.  I can't share any of them yet, as the occasions haven't happened, and I don't want to spoil the surprise.  But I haven't had much to share until today.

It's the first time I've played with new stamps, and I pulled out Choose Happy for a start.  This cute set has 14 tiny images (heart, bunny, candle, pumpkin, etc) to commemorate all kinds of special occasions - from birthdays to holidays to seasons and more.  AND there are a ton of words, like "Dreams", "Gratitude", "Birthday", etc. to use with the two main words - Choose and Happy.  A fun way to build your card.

So for my first play, I decided on a birthday card (because I'm always in need of those!):

I started with a piece of the Full of Life Designer Series Paper - one with a watercolor look fading from greens to oranges to yellows.  I stamped "happy" randomly using Smoky Slate ink (and stamping off once) before ending up with one stamped in black.

The little candles were stamped on small Stitched Rectangle die-cuts, and colored with Stampin' Blends.

I embossed two colors of cardstock to coordinate with the designer paper and added everything to a white base.

But it needed just a little something - black fine-tip marker to the rescue!  I added little squiggles and dots for a border, and love how it came out.

One more birthday card for my stash!  And a fun play with the new stamp set!
