It's always fun to experiment with techniques, and although this is not a new one to me, I haven't used it in awhile.
Take a look at how a piece of Vellum, embossed with an embossing folder, can add interest and texture to a card:
This is a very easy layout - a strip of lovely patterned paper (Delightful Floral) adhered to a card base (Blackberry Bliss) with embossed Vellum (Exposed Brick embossing folder) on top. Then finish off with a greeting (Wanted to Say) and a pretty flower (fussy-cut from the DSP).
The Vellum tones down the pattern underneath it to prevent it from overtaking the greeting. But the added texture gives the card more interest without interfering with the words and flower.
And speaking of the words and flower...I love how I can use the patterned paper to cut the words, coordinating them with the DSP below the Vellum. And that flower? Fussy cut from another piece of the DSP. So pretty.
Try different embossing folders and see how this technique can enhance your creations!
