Flipping for Cocktails

One of the cards featured in my February Cards by Mail was a "flip" card.  I like cards that surprise, and I think this was a good one.

This is the outside, with the card closed.  But as you start to open it:

the front circle seems to move until the card is completely opened:

How cute is that?

The card is a standard piece of 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" cardstock, scored at 2-1/8" and 4-1/4".  The tricky part is cutting the circle - you have to load your die but only cover half of it with your cutting plate.  That allows part of the circle to remain intact with the card front, while half of it is free to allow the front of the card to "flip".

Nothing's Better Than is the perfect stamp set for this.  And the bright Magenta Madness cardstock and patterned paper really packs a punch!  My cocktail was stamped with Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin' Blends, then cut with the Love You More Than dies.

And I made a masculine version too:

Try a "Flip Card" the next time you need a little fun!
