Two Ways to Color

I had some thank you notes to send out, and wanted to use the beautiful FREE Sale-a-Bration offering, Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper.  I had seen a few samples where the paper was colored with Stampin' Blends, so I decided to give it a go.  What do you think?

The patterned paper I used (both the stripes and the butterflies) are from the Botanical Butterfly selection, and they are black and white.  I chose to color in two different methods - background coloring and image coloring.  Let's take a closer look.

For this card, I chose to color just the butterfly images.  Really makes them stand out, huh?  Placing them on a small mat of Basic Black and Pool Party makes the images pop!

But then I did this:

Wow!

I had trouble determining which I liked more...what about you?  Won't you leave me a comment and let me know?

Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper is still available with a $50 purchase.  But it won't last forever!

Team Thank Yous

Because I am soon relocating to another state, I celebrated my last "in person" Ink Masters Team meeting recently, and this great group of friends were SO good to me!  They brought lunch, mimosas, yummy desserts and gorgeous flowers, so I felt a need to send thank you notes.

Such a fun and pretty card, and quite easy to boot!

Thick Whisper White for a strong base,  a layer of Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper (cut with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits 💗) and then a piece of coordinating cardstock (Highland Heather or Lemon Lime Twist) frames the main panel.

Have you seen the Well Said and Well Written Bundle in the Occasions Catalog?  One of my very favorites, this is SUCH a versatile and awesome set!  Fourteen words and tons of extra dies make card-making a breeze!  Pricey, yes; but so worth the cost when you consider all you can do with this bundle!

I simply cut the "thanks", leaves and butterflies, and stamped the "heartfelt" in coordinating ink.  Done!

I so appreciate my wonderful team!  Wish they were moving with me!

Flowering Along

Remember this?

I loved playing with the gorgeous Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies and wanted to do it again.  But I didn't want to use the same stamp set (Lovely Lattice).  So I chose another lovely flower from Humming Along, and this is the result:

This started as an experiment with Brusho.  I sprinkled the red Brusho on water-saturated Watercolor Paper and watched as the explosion of color happened.  Once dry, I stamped the hibiscus flower and cut them out using the Hummingbird framelits dies.  Next they were spritzed with a mixture of Shimmer Paint and rubbing alcohol.  I can't quite get a good photo of the shimmer, but it's beautiful in person!

So when I saw the pretty flowers, I knew I needed a pretty background.  More experimentation:  I cut a piece of Whisper White with the Wonderful Floral Framelits dies, and then I ran the uncut side through the Big Shot with the Lace Embossing Folder for a little extra WOW!

All that was left was to layer the flowers on the card front and sneak in a few leaves.

Can't wait to send this to a special person!
