Isn't that pretty? And who wouldn't love to open this card, which not only has a cute greeting, but can also be shaken for a little more fun? And it's perfect for Valentines Day!
As I always like to teach something new to my club attendees, this card had a few "tricks and tips" that I was able to share.
First, that background.
Using Sponge Daubers, we created a beautiful background, starting with Rich Razzleberry, progressing to Melon Mambo, fading to Flirty Flamingo, and being topped off with Mango Melody. Just like a sunset!
Then they learned how to cut a frame using two sizes of Stitched Rectangle dies. Place a smaller rectangle on your paper, then add a larger one (I like to go up two sizes) around the first, ensuring that it is equally spaced on all four sides. We used a little washi tape to hold our dies in place, then ran it through the die-cutting machine. The center pops out, leaving a nice frame for our card. We then adhered a piece of Window Sheet to the back side of our frame, being sure to have adhesive all the way around it.
Then it was time to fill our shaker--we added mini hearts (cut from the Detailed Hearts die) and some sequins (Iridescent Sequin Assortment) on our sponged background, and then, after adding Adhesive Foam Strips all around our frame, laid it over the top. Voila! A shaker! We just had to add it to our card base, of Thick Whisper White cardstock.
We finished with words in Rich Razzleberry, cut with the Well Written dies, and adhered to a smaller Stitched Rectangle, placed over a strip of Melon Mambo.
So cute! And a big hit at my party!
