Tropical Cocktails

It's tough celebrating a birthday right now. And when you are stuck at home (for months!) with four children, it's even tougher. So I wanted to give my daughter-in-law a mini tropical vacation, at least in card form:

I was going for the "looking out the window of a beach-side restaurant" look; what do you think? Did I accomplish it? 😊

I think everyone needs Nothing's Better Than in their stamp collection! I absolutely love it, and can't stop playing with it! And then there's that Rainbow Glimmer Paper!!! OMG! Doesn't that look like sand (Sahara Sand), surf and sky?

You may have noticed I reversed my cocktails...how did I do that? I actually made a video about the technique; you can see it here. Then I made "rainbow cocktails" (they are really a "thing") using my Stampin' Blends.

The palm trees are from Timeless Tropical. And the little sign? I cut the greeting with the Stitched So Sweetly dies, then cropped another, same size from the In Good Taste patterned paper, hand-snipping out the middle (yes, I know - very tedious) to make a little wood frame.

And speaking of wood frames...

I cut that wood frame (my "window frame") three times to get it right! Geez...I added the In Good Taste paper to a piece of Early Espresso, then cut it with the second-largest Stitched Rectangle to get the middle popped out. Then the entire frame is adhered with Foam Adhesive Strips, so it is an actual frame. Whew!

I do hope Sarah can enjoy her birthday; she's one of the best mom's I have ever met, but, hey - everyone needs a little break now and then. I hope the kids give her some time to herself; hard to come by when your children are 9, 7, 3 and 1! Happy Birthday, Sarah!
