Message in a Bottle

I'm still in love with the Whale of a Time suite from the Annual Catalog!  So when I had an idea to put a message in a bottle, I reached for the Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper to start.  Then I had such a good time building my scene:

Now truth be told, I ended up stamping and punching that jar 3 times!  I just couldn't quite get it right.  But I finally discovered that stamping and punching out of Pool Party cardstock gave me the look of the jar with the "sea background" (like looking through a clear jar, right?).

Now you can't tell here, but this jar has a top piece of Window Sheet so that it actually looks like a glass jar!  That scrunched up note inside is actually INSIDE the jar!  And I cut a little slit in the patterned paper, in the sand, so it looks like the jar is resting on the bottom of the sea.  😍

And I added some actual shells, along with the Whale of a Time Sequins (the tiny pink shells) on the bottom of the card.

And can you see the jellyfish?  I stamped and embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder, so it looks like a real jellyfish - semi transparent.  Yes, I'm a genius!  😉

A few fish, and the seahorses were stamped, and the sea turtle was cut from a piece of the patterned paper.

And inside:

Had to finish with a little more beach...
