Silver Mini Gable Boxes? Yes Please!

Have you seen these beautiful little Silver Mini Gable Boxes?

They are so pretty and easy to put together.  And there are so many decorating options!

My mother-in-law recently celebrated her 90th birthday, and in true family fashion, we threw her a party.  Naturally we needed some little favors for the guests to take home, and I had just received my order with these boxes in it.  So imagine the field day I had creating these!

Let's take a closer look:

I started by adhering some retired Designer Series Paper in Silver and White all around the box.  At On Stage in November, we got to make one of these, and were given a 12" x 2" strip of DSP to adhere to the box, but I found that it left gaps on the corners.  So it was easier for me to cut the strip into 4 pieces, two of them just under 4" long and the other two just under 2" long.  I like the corners much better.

I then ran a strip of Whisper White cardstock through the Big Shot with the Celebrations Duo embossing folder (the one that says "celebrate") and added that to the front of the box.

The party theme was blue and purple; my sister-in-law had chosen some ribbon for the packaging, and I was able to match the purple to my Elegant Eggplant cardstock.  So we cut out the Silver Foil numbers, using a retired set of Little Numbers dies and punched out an Eggplant circle for a tag.

The blue ribbon was tied around the box, and then a bow of the purple was added along with the tag.

I forgot to take a photo of the inside, but we used the silver and white packages of the Suite Soiree Ready Shreddie (shredded paper) on which to nestle our silver Hershey's Kisses and purple Ghiradelli Blueberry Chocolate Squares inside.  A really sweet and pretty little take-home for the party-goers.  And the caterer loved them!  Can you say new customer?  😁
