Another Two-Fer

Yesterday I showed two cards using the same layout.  Today I have another set:

The card on the left was pretty much "stolen" from Pinterest.  I used it at my August Card Club to show off the beauty of the foil sheets and a simple layout.  And when I had an extra card packet at the end of class, I decided to make a similar card using other stamps.

Minimal supplies here:  A Thick Whisper White card base, with a layer of Blueberry Bushel.  A layer of Whisper White with four squares cut from the Noble Peacock DSP using Layering Squares dies.  And a stamp, stamped in Blueberry Bushel, cut out and adhered with Dimensionals.

I love this sentiment from Butterfly Wishes, and the butterflies are gorgeous too.  I showed my stampers how to set up the Stamparatus with a template so that you can punch the butterflies and then stamp them at the same time.

And Wink of Stella was a huge hit - check out that sparkle!

For this card I pulled out Vibrant Vases, stamping and punching the vase and cutting the flowers, both stamped with Blueberry Bushel ink.  A sentiment from Varied Vases adds my thoughts, and I blinged it up with some Noble Peacock Rhinestones.

Two cards with one layout - easy peasy, and so pretty!

Wednesday's "What's On the Desk?"

Yeah it's time for another of my What's On the Desk posts.  This week I had some left over pieces from a few different cards/classes:

A piece of cardstock with some Basket Weave embossing, a few Whisper White rectangles cut with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits, some vases punched with the Vases Builder Punch and a few hearts from a retired set.

What to do...

May have some possibilities...

Oh!  I have this too, left from a class that didn't happen 😁

So how about...

But I have two vases, so...

And...

Now we're talking!

Hmmm, needs a little color...

OK, coming along...but what else?

Love these FREE Sale-a-Bration Foil sheets!

How about a sentiment?  I want to be sure to get it straight, first time, so it's time for the Stamparatus!

Yes!  (Hard to photograph these fabulous foil sheets, as the light hits it differently with every angle, but you get the picture).

Finished, and time for my close up:

I love playing with left-overs!  I never know what I'll get in the end, but I enjoy the creative process.

Do you use your scraps and left-overs?  Won't you leave me a comment and tell me what you do with them?

A Card for the Seniors

Last week I did something new - I taught a Card Class at the Senior Center in my community.  I've been volunteering there for about 10 months, working at the front desk (I am a great greeter! 😊) and I also take blood pressures once a month (I'm a retired nurse).  So when I was asked about teaching a card class, I was delighted.

I had 11 participants, all brand new stampers.  I prepared two fairly simple cards, that I felt would be an easy introduction but still make them all successful.  The first one I shared with you here.

Today I'm showcasing the second:

I gave everyone a card base, two pieces of Whisper White cardstock, two rectangles of the Brights Designers Series Paper, and a Whisper White oval that I had cut with the Layering Ovals prior to class.

We used the new Vibrant Vases stamp set, stamping the daisies on the oval with Tuxedo Black ink.  Then the attendees colored the center of the flowers and the leaves with Stampin' Blends.

A quick punch with the coordinating Vases Builder Punch (I pre-embossed the cardstock strips with the Subtle embossing folder) and we were just about done.

This card came in two colors:

And everyone went home happy.  (As I was leaving the employee at the front desk said she heard "rave reviews" and the volunteer working said that everyone had to show him their cards!) 😄

Looking forward to introducing more people to my passion...if you would like to attend one of my classes, drop me a line and I'll be sure to include you on my next invite!
