Cow's It Going?

Just a little comic relief after spending the past 6 weeks socially isolated.  I decided to make this for my sister:

My sister is a fan of cows, while I've always loved pigs.  I have socks with flying pigs, piggy banks, and even a stamp set with pigs.  And my sister has a cow cutting board and a cow chalk board in her kitchen.  So in the midst of all the mask-wearing hoopla, I decided to bring our favorite animals into the mix.

My cow is wearing a lovely Whisper White mask, cut with the Stitched Nested Labels.  Miss Piggy has a mask fashioned from 1" and 1/2" circle punches.  The grass they are playing on is sponged, as is the sky, and pretty flowers were added with the Friendly Silhouettes dies.

My friends are not only being cautious by wearing masks, they are also maintaining their social distance of 6 feet!

Please stay safe and healthy!   And let's all look forward to life becoming a bit more "normal"!

Back on the Farm

I keep going back to the farm to play with my cows...and I'm adding in pigs.

Just a whimsical card combining two of my favorite stamp sets, This Little Piggy and Over the Moon.

A little back-story - I've been a fan of pigs for years.  When I was a little girl, something made me laugh, and I told my parents I was "as happy as a little pig", and it stuck.  Then my sister started sending me flying pigs, and it's become a joke.  If you could see my house, you'd marvel laugh wonder about my mental state when you saw all the flying pigs around.  (Seriously, I have quite a few, but it's not THAT bad 😄.)

So this card is for my sister (who likes cows as much as I like pigs).

Who doesn't love a flying pig with sparkly wings?

The images were stamped with Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Stampin' Blends, and then I sponged Call Me Clover, Balmy Blue and Night of Navy on the card.

My sister will laugh when she sees this cow dreaming of flying pigs...

The new Annual Catalog is just about to go live.  If you have anything left on your current wish list, order now or forever hold your peace; once the retiring items are gone, they are gone for good.  But the new catalog has LOTS of things to love!

Need one?  Drop me a line and I'll get one out to you.  And get ready to place orders starting June 4.

She Believed!

My daughter-in-law is a genius!

She's an aeronautical engineer, with a PhD from Stanford University.  She has been working for NASA, designing helicopter control panels, and getting international attention for the "swing load" program that she designed.  I have to admit, I don't even know what a "swing load" is, and have trouble spelling "aeronautical", but I'm super proud of her!

And now she has accepted a new position as a professor at the University of Portland, Oregon.  Unfortunately this involves a move away from California (and me!), but I'm truly happy for my son and his family.

And I felt that her achievements deserved some recognition...so...

What do you think?  Too corny?

I absolutely LOVE this new stamp set, This Little Piggy!  Anyone who has come to my home knows that I have flying pigs all over.  My sister can't pass a flying pig without buying it for me.  I have banks, watering cans, a mobile, magnets, and even a notebook of flying pigs.  And now I'm sounding like one of those crazy people who hoard things and have them all over their house!  Wow!  My flying pigs are actually tastefully displayed...but I digress...

Back to the card...

Isn't this the cutest?

My card base is Pink Pirouette, with a layer of Whisper White.  I took a piece of (retired) designer series paper for the front of the card, and stamped the grass from High Tide across the bottom.  Then it was on to my pig.

She was stamped, using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, on a piece of Whisper White, which was cut with the Stitched Shapes framelits.  I stamped her again on Pink Pirouette, and fussy cut her out.  I also stamped her wings on white, and cut them.  Miss Piggy is adhered over the image on the oval with Glue Dots, and her wings are adhered only at the "shoulder", allowing them to pop up a little.  Then the oval is mounted to a Pink Pirouette one, cut with the Layering Ovals.

The clouds were cut with the Umbrella Weather framelits.

Inside:
Perfect sentiment!
