Gift Bag for a Friend

As I noted the other day, today is the day I retired, after 19 years of working at Sutter Medical Foundation.  My colleague, Lori, has been my friend and co-worker, a huge support, my ally, and my partner in crime.  😇  I will miss her dearly.

Lori and I have some Alex and Ani bracelets, and I found the perfect one to gift her before taking my leave.  It's a "friendship" bracelet, with two arrows "each pointing in different directions, but crossing over their hearts"--I felt it would signify our years of working together.

And of course I HAD to make it pretty:

Pulling out one of my small "handle" bags, I decorated it with the gorgeous Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.  The gold foil accents in this paper give it a rich look and a textured feel--LOVE IT!  💗

I measured the length and width of the bag and cut a piece of the DSP to the same size (actually shorter than the height of the bag, as I chose to add more gold foil at the top).  This was adhered to the front using Tear & Tape Adhesive.

For the top of the bag, I cut a length of Gold Foil Sheets and ran it through the Big Shot with the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder.  Adding a little scallop of Rich Razzleberry to the top and bottom gave a little "frill".

Using the heart die from the Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies, I cut a Melon Mambo and a Peekaboo Peach heart, and embossed them.  The banner shape in the Lots to Love Box set was cut with Rich Razzleberry, and "friend" comes from the Lovely Words Thinlits Dies, cut with Gold Foil.

Pretty packaging...always makes the simple gifts even more special!

Hugs!

I like to send thank you notes to my customers, and here is one from last month:

Berry Burst and Powder Pink make such a wonderful combination--cheery and bright!  Add in some polka dots and flowers, and you have a happy card.

Berry Burst cardstock was cut to 4-1/2" x 11", along with a layer, sized 3-3/4" x 5", which took a trip through the Big Shot with the Polka Dot Basics embossing folder.  The Powder Pink layer is 4" x 5-1/4".

The polka-dotted layer also had a Layering Circle cutout of the middle, letting the Powder Pink layer show through.

"Hugs" comes from the Lovely Words Thinlits; it was cut using Fresh Fig cardstock, the Lovely Words circle and a larger circle from the Layering Circles.

The flowers are from Beautiful Bouquet, cut with the coordinating Bouquet Bunch Framelits.

And the sentiment was stamped in Berry Burst, with a White Perfect Accent to finish it off.

Belated Father's Day

I have one more Father's Day card, but this could actually be used for MANY reasons:

This is the card I sent my dad.  The Dapper Denim and Lemon Lime Twist combo is fresh and lively.  The designer papers come from two paper packs:  Eastern Palace (the Dapper Denim sheet) and Fresh Florals (the Lemon Lime Twist piece).

The Lovely Words Thinlits make card-making a snap!  These are so easy to layer with the Stitched Shapes Framelits and the Layering Circles (the scalloped layer).

Add the Lovely Inside & Out stamp set, and your card is done!  (The stamp set and thinlits are sold in a bundle, saving you 10%!).

I just stamped the words in Dapper Denim ink and flagged the ends; popped up with Dimensionals, these words make a statement!
