Starting the Holiday Catalog Parade

Are you ready?  The new Holiday Catalog is live and I've been playing with my new toys.  Ready for some samples?

First up:  Festival of Trees
This set is bound to be a winner.  The variety of trees is super, and the accessories (to decorate them) are fun!  And with the matching punch, I know you'll enjoy this set!  So easy to create. 

So here are two samples using different techniques:

 

Look how cute!  I started with s base of Whisper White, but covered the entire front with a piece of Soft Sky which had been run through the Big Shot with the new Lucky Stars Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (and punched with the large oval punch).  I then made hills with Pear Pizzazz and the beautiful new All is Calm Specialty Designer Series Paper. 

To make the trees, I laid the All is Calm Designer Washi Tape on Whisper White card stock and punched with the Tree Punch.  A trunk of Chocolate Chip cardstock was adhered, and my trees were popped up with Dimensionals.  So sweet.

Inside I used the plain tree, inked in Pear Pizzazz and Chocolate Chip and stamped off once; then the words were done with Basic Grey ink. 

Card number 2 is completely different:

Same stamp set (Festival of Trees, although the sentiment comes from Holiday Home).  This beautiful tree was stamped in Mossy Meadow; I used a Blender Pen to remove the ink on the trunk, and colored it with Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker.  So pretty!

I used our Kraft cardstock, embossed with the Woodgrain Embossing folder and inked lightly with Soft Suede.  Oval framelits cut a nice oval in the Kraft; I also made a frame with Mossy Meadow and adhered it around the oval hole.  This was placed over the tree image, then added to a layer of Cherry Cobbler and a Mossy Meadow base. 

Mossy Meadow Stitched Satin Ribbon and a popped up sentiment complete the card.

Paper Pumpkin Revisited

I sure hope you're not sick of the August Paper Pumpkin yet because I have one more bunch of samples to show you.

I've already shared the August basic Paper Pumpkin kit (here), and the alternate project my Pumpkin Pals made (here).  Now I'll finish with another assortment of cards I made using the basic kit plus a few (very few) additional supplies.

How did I make this Paper Pumpkin stretch so far?  I simply cut the card bases (two of the four large ones) in half.  This gave me lots of striped backgrounds to mix and match with cardstock and Whisper White.

Thinking Outside the (Orange) Box, round 2

So yesterday I showed you the August Paper Pumpkin kit, with samples following the directions.  Today I'm going to show you some more samples--I've been a busy stamper!  This kit really has possibilities.

First up: 

A trio of cards using supplies from the Paper Pumpkin kit, plus a FEW extras.  My Pumpkin Pals will be making this set, along with a cute gift bag for them.  Let's take a look at each card.

Mounted on a base of Strawberry Slush, I cut one of the base cards from the kit in half, and then cut one piece to 5-1/2" x 2-1/4".  This is adhered in the center.  The "Smile" laser-cut card topper is from the kit; I've stamped the sentiment in the corner and wrapped a piece of Strawberry Slush Thick Bakers Twine around it and tied it in a bow.  A few sequins (from the kit) and we're done!

The second card uses the left over 5-1/4" x 2" striped card base from above:

This is flagged and adhered to a Mossy Meadow card base, with the polka-dots (stamp from the kit) in Mossy Meadow.  The only additional piece is the Mossy Meadow Stitched Satin Ribbon, as the star laser-cut card and the banner (with sentiment) are all included.

Finally, a fun Congrats card:

Mini banners are punched from the other half of the striped base card and added to the top of the laser-cut "Congrats" card.  This is adhered to a base of Hello Honey, and the banner is stamped in Hello Honey (included in the kit).

My Pals will also get something extra--a gift bag to keep their cards in:

Again using that same striped card base that we cut in half at the beginning, this last piece is a flagged banner, topped with one of the heart laser-cuts and another banner (stamped in Strawberry Slush).  A piece of Hello Honey Satin Striped Ribbon is stapled to the top, and the tag is mounted to the gift bag using a mini clothespin.

A perfect little birthday surprise for a friend or colleague.

Thinking Outside the (Orange) Box

Another Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop

Welcome to another Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop!  This month we are featuring items from the upcoming Holiday Catalog, available August 28th.

You may have just arrived from Terri's blog (don't you love her creations?), and I appreciate you visiting my site.  If you've started here, just click on the buttons at the bottom to continue the circle; you'll go all the way around and end up back here.

Being a Stampin' UP! demonstrator definitely has its advantages...my favorite is being able to pre-order new items from new catalogs before they go live.  The Holiday Catalog is just about to make it's debut, and one of my favorite sets is Holiday Home, along with the matching framelits.  I had all kinds of ideas for Christmas, but as I was playing, discovered little pieces of the set that make it perfect for (wait for it)--HALLOWEEN!  Look:

First up, a card.  This adorable set (photopolymer so you can see exactly where your stamped images are going) comes with everything you see here.  I stamped the house and colored with my Blendabilities, then cut it out with the Homemade Holiday framelits (LOVE).

Then I stamped the lamppost, trees and ghosts.  I masked the ghosts and moon and sponged my background.  Isn't that a scream?

This is layered on Tangerine Tango cardstock, and added to a Basic Black base.  Love it!

And then I got inspired:

How about a tag?  Same idea on a smaller "canvas", and punched with our Angled Tag Topper Punch.  The new White and Tangerine Two-Tone Trim is fed through the tag hole, along with some sequins (contraband from an upcoming Paper Pumpkin kit...shhhh...).  An adorable Blackberry Bliss In Color Clothespin holds my tag to a cute Mini Muslin Bag that I sponged using the Dots and Stripes Decorative Mask, Stampin' Sponges and Tangerine Tango ink.

Did you catch the little Jack-o-Lantern faces and ghosts stamped on the dots?

But I couldn't stop yet...I had to use the new Gift Box Punch Board and Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper for one more project:

This great paper (like all our DSP) has two sides, but this one is really great:  one side is Halloween-themed, but the other can be used all year round.  So if you purchase a pack and don't get to use the entire thing up by Halloween, you can still use it for other projects.

The Gift Box Punch Board makes boxes in a ton of sizes up to 4" on all sides.  This one is 4" x 4" x 3", plenty big enough for a special treat!  It's topped with our Tea Lace Paper Doilies and a rosette made with the Designer Rosette Bigz XL die.  I added a Tangerine Tango flower, punched with the    2-3/8 " Scallop Circle Punch.  But best of all:

flying bats--courtesy of the Elegant Butterfly punch (with a little nipping using a 1/2" circle punch).  These are attached to strips of Window Sheets and added to my rosette with Mini Glue Dots, giving an illusion that they are flying over my box.
