 When I first got Posted for You, I bought it because I loved the Rectangular Postage Stamp punch.  And then I sat and looked at it all and wondered what the heck I was going to do with them.  

Although I did use the punch a few times I struggled to use the stamps and punch together.  Until this:

Finally found the stamp/punch mojo, and I'm really happy with the results!  What do you think?

I started by stamping the images.  Because I wanted them to all be identical, I first punched the Whisper White cardstock and then used my Stamparatus to stamp the images.   They are colored with Real Red, Mint Macaron and Balmy Blue blends.

I wanted a Balmy Blue background (I had already tried it on Whisper White, but it was too washed-out), but the blue was too much.  Vellum!  A layer of vellum, stamped with the postmark image, did the trick!

The greeting is from the retired Beautiful Bouquet, stamped and cut with the Layering Circles dies.  

Sometimes it just takes a little while to find the right combination of stamps/punches.  Glad I finally found it!  😁

Congrats!

Do you ever have a serendipity moment?  One of those times when you aren't planning something and then good fortune just happens?  Last night I had a serendipity card moment.  

Last week I made a "congrats" card for one of my Ink Masters team members, cutting the letters out using the Playful Alphabet dies.  When I was done cutting, I decided to use the negative space (the left-over part with the holes in it where your letters were cut) for my card.  So I had the actual letters left.

What do you do with your left-over pieces?

These sat on my desk for a few days, and in the meantime I made a few more cards.  Well, late last night I picked up the letters and decided to make another card:

The letters had been cut using a strip of Artistry Blooms patterned paper, which had an ombre look (darker colors fading to lighter, and back to darker).  And I also happened to have an "orphaned" piece of Whisper White that had been embossed with the Dainty Diamonds embossing folder.  So I created a little magic and combined them.  

The letters were adhered to the card front, and then in another serendipity moment, I found another left-over--a piece of the Rainbow Glimmer paper that had been cut into a frame.  It was such a perfect wedding of unused pieces!

But I needed to add some kind of embellishment and nothing in my "stash" seemed to fit.  But wait!  I still had glimmer paper, so I punched some circles with two different sizes of circle punches - LOVE!  And you can glimpse the extra circles on the inside of my card.

Sometimes it's funny how things just come together!

September Paper Pumpkin

Love of Leaves

 

I'm participating in an International Blog Highlights contest today, and have chosen Love of Leaves and the Stitched Leaves dies for my card.  

I was a bit of a latecomer to this beautiful stamp set.  I wasn't sure I needed any more leaf sets, but after viewing a few samples (and seeing the stitched lines that are included in the die set) I had to make it mine.  

Take a look:

I love the look of white-on-white, as it's so clean.  See the stitched lines on the left side of the card?  LOVE! 

The leaves were stamped in various shades of green and cut with the coordinating dies.  The last one was tied with some gold thread from the Forever Greenery Trim.

I actually made two of these cards; on one of them I smudged the greeting 😧, so I put my creativity to the test and added another greeting with a Stitched So Sweetly die-cut.

Merry Monday

 Let's have another Merry Monday today.  I am enjoying the new Stitched Triangle dies, so thought I'd use them to create a tree:

This took awhile; cutting the little triangles (from pieces of my favorite new holiday paper - Heartwarming Hugs patterned paper) then trying to create a big triangle for the background.  And I had a mess on my desk when my husband brought me a treat:

He's so supportive of all my crafting!  💗  Happily the wine didn't go to my head and the card still came out straight! 😄

Anyway, back to my card.  After finishing my tree, I had to come up with a background.  Decided to use the Pinewood Planks embossing folder, but first I heat embossed a "vintage" (retired) greeting:

Once embossed, I ran the layer through my new Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine - love the way it looks behind that little tree.  

Doesn't this look like a quilt?  Country Christmas!
