Little Treats

 All those who have seen the Little Treat Box dies raise your hand!  

Not you?  Well let me introduce you...

Little Treats stamps and the Little Treat Box dies are adorable, functional, and SO easy!  I was playing last night (after catching a glimpse of a different kind of box from Elizbeth's Craft Room, a blog by a European demonstrator) and had so much fun I thought I'd share some of the packages I made.

First up, a simple Halloween box, with few frills:

  

Here is a picture of all the dies in the set:

The largest die is set on a piece of 6" x 6" paper and cut out, giving you a super-simple little box to put together (no adhesive required) in about 30 seconds.  😁  Then all you have to do is decorate!  And see all those other dies?  They coordinate with the stamps, and give you options to make boxes for birthdays, Halloween, Christmas, engagement parties, wedding favors, or "just because".  

So let's look at all my boxes:

Back to Halloween.  I simply cut the die with Pumpkin Pie cardstock, embossed it with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder, cut out the (included) scalloped circle die and stamped it with the included stamp.  Then I cut out the spider (included die) and popped it on the front.  Scary?  Fun!

How about another?

This time I made a birthday treat box, and added some patterned paper.  Easy peasy!

My favorite - I added some leaves cut with dies (Stitched Leaves and In the Woods).  The greeting is from Harvest Hellos and cut with the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  The the box is tied up with Greenery Ribbon.

Now, stepping outside the "box":

Cut with Plaid Tidings paper, I left didn't push the side pieces all the way to the center.  Instead they were adhered to the front flaps on an angle, making a larger box for bigger goodies.  

And finally:

A Mini Pizza Box.  the flaps of the treat box were cut away and adhered to the Pizza Box and tied with a bow!

Got Men?

 Do you have men in your life?  I do...quite a few.  And I still struggle with ideas for their cards.  But every now and then, inspiration strikes, and I think this was one of those times:

How's that for a little manliness?  😁  Blues, greens and a lighthouse just say "guy", right?

I am really loving the Artistry Blooms patterned paper.  And that background paper is from that collection.  Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green, Night of Navy and Coastal Cabana are all colors featured on this page.  So I had my pick of colors for my image.

High Tide is still one of my favorite stamp sets.  I love the sea-oriented images, and this lighthouse, stamped in two colors, can be stunning!  I stamped the lighthouse, masked it, sponged the "sky", and added sea and sand; this was then cut with the Stitched Rectangle dies, and mounted on a Night of Navy frame, cut with the Ornate Layers dies, which was wrapped with a piece of Braided Linen Trim.

Get to Know the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine

 I mentioned in yesterday's post that the new Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine is now available to purchase.  I thought we could take a few minutes to see what all the buzz is about and help you get to know this new product.

Now that you've seen the machine, let's look at how it works:

Split Card Stamping

I drank the KoolAid.  I jumped on the bandwagon.  I got sucked in.

To what, you ask?  The "Split Card" Stamping Technique.  This is what I made:

This is a fun technique that helps you create 2 cards quickly.

Start with a piece of cardstock that is 5-1/4" x 8".
Stamp your images in the center of the cardstock so that they straddle the 4" mark.
Cut your cardstock in half, so you have two pieces measuring 4" x 5-1/4".
Create two cards!

I chose the Celebrate Sunflowers stamps.  Using the large sunflower, I stamped it twice in the center of my cardstock.  Can you see the two half-sunflowers on the left side of the card?  Once I colored them, I cut the cardstock in half.

For this card, I embossed the panel with the Subtle embossing folder.

For my second card, I flipped the image over (so that it was also on the left side of the paper) but did not emboss it.

The greeting was stamped on Whisper White, and layered on some Layering Ovals of Bumblebee and Early Espresso, and the small sunflower was cut with the coordinating Sunflower dies and popped up on a Dimensional.

I love cutting my card-making time in half!
