More Christmas Cards

It's Day 3, and I have another Christmas card from my weekend class:

This was definitely a favorite, and was much easier that it looks.

A card base of Whisper White Thick card stock was embossed with a sentiment from Tin of Tags using Gold Embossing Powder.  We also embossed the smaller circle, a stamp from Merriest Wishes.  This was punched out with a 1" circle punch.

The beautiful tags are framelits, the Merry Tags Framelits Dies.  The Christmas tree was backed with a circle of Gold Glimmer Paper--so pretty and sparkly!

The tags were "hung" with Gold 1/8" ribbon, and bows were adhered with Glue Dots.  We even embossed the sentiment on the inside--recipients of this card will go "ooh!"

Time for Christmas Cards

It's only 84 days until Christmas, so it's time for a week of Christmas cards.  I had a party and invited everyone to come make cards for the holidays.  I thought I'd show you what we made this week.

Here's the composite of all six cards:

We used all new products from the Holiday Catalog.  And each day this week I'll give you the details.

So let's start with an easy, but lovely card:

The card base and layer is Garden Green, with the layer embossed with the Cable Knit embossing folder.  Since it looks like a sweater, we needed a sentiment that expressed something "warm"--the Tin of Cards stamp was perfect!

And of course we needed some mistletoe!  So out came the Pretty Pines Thinlits Dies, which made the perfect mistletoe and ribbon.

These are layered on two Whisper White squares--the Layering Squares framelits make this easy.

And we finished with a little Silver Thread, making for a lovely embellishment with a touch of sparkle.

Tin of Tags

I fell in love with one of the new items in the Holiday Catalog this year.  The Tin of Tags is the cutest!  Look:

This snappy little red polka-dotted tin is stuffed with almost everything you need to make (are you ready for this?)  30 - THIRTY - tags!

Yes!  It comes with printed tags (3 each of 10 designs), die-cut shapes, baker's twine, tassels, wood snowflakes and bows, sequins, washi tape and doilies!  WHEW!  Pick up the coordinating stamp set, Tin of Tags, and a few ink pads, and you're ready to go.

While I was waiting for my new granddaughter to come home from the hospital last month, I pulled out my tin one evening (it traveled very easily to Maryland with me).  I had been saving some ink spots from past Paper Pumpkins and had all the right colors.  So all I needed was a little adhesive, my acrylic block, and I was ready to go!  I sat down and stamped, glued and embellished, and in no time I had 30 tags ready for the holidays, as well as other occasions.

This is a great project to make with friends or kids.  Easy, quick, little mess and you make something that we all need--tags for gifts!  Perfect!
