As noted last week, I have problems making multiples of cards. So when attending an event, like Stampin' UP!s annual convention, I always bring a few of many cards, instead of many of one. Today I'll share two of the swaps I brought; they're gone now, but not forgotten:
Had to make some baby cards!
Something For Baby, along with the matching
Baby First Framelits made these pretty easy, but they were a winner at Convention.
I cut a piece of
Whisper White cardstock to 4" x 4". This made a perfect square on which to stamp the squiggles from
Tin of Cards. I first stamped "BABY" in the center; then, with a small piece of retired Washi Tape covering the word, I stamped the squiggles on all four sides. So cute!
For him: The onesie was stamped in
Lost Lagoon and cut out with the framelits. I stamped the tie and the hangar in
Tip Top Taupe and cut them out too. The hangar is adhered to the back of the onsie, and then it's popped up on
Dimensionals, as is the tie.
For her: Same process as above, but instead of the tie I snipped a piece of
Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace Trim and adhered a skirt with
Tear and Tape Adhesive. This one also got a little strip of the lace trim at the bottom of the white piece.
The boy card has a strip of Whisper White along the bottom, from which I cut the "hello" using the
Greeting Thinlets. This cardstock was glued to the card front, so the Lost Lagoon card base gives some color to the sentiment. For the girl card I cheated--just used the white "hello" that I cut from the boy card and adhered it to the front.
Now for another card:
Easy peasy--This has a
Basic Gray card base with a Whisper White layer (4" x 5-1/4"). Then I cut three rectangles, one each from
Soft Sky, Pool Party and
Mint Macaron, on which I stamped the same flower from
Wild About Flowers (using
Memento Tuxedo Black ink). "Just for you" (from
Watercolor Wings) was stamped and then punched out using the
Bow Builder Punch, then some
Whisper White Bakers Twine holds it in place. Subtle, pretty and shows off the different blue-green cardstocks.
And finally:
A World of Thanks is a great background stamp, but why not let it shine on it's own? This was inked in
Pear Pizazz and then I went over the big "thank you" in the upper left corner with
Mossy Meadow markers. Then it was stamped on Whisper White. I then ran it through my
Big Shot with the Greetings Thinlets (yep, same set as the baby card above). I also cut two more layers of "thanks" from
Coaster Board.
The "thanks" were all glued together and then fit back into the cut out part of the card front, creating a subtle raised "thanks":
A few stars were punched with the
Confetti Stars Border Punch along with some hearts from the
Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and glued on, and a little tag was added with
Linen Thread.
These cards are now in homes all over the US and Canada; I hope the recipients enjoy them!
