Paper Pumpkin Anniversary

No, it's not an anniversary for Paper Pumpkin!  It's an anniversary card using dies from Paper Pumpkin πŸ˜„

13 years ago today family and friends gathered in Temecula, CA to witness the marriage of my daughter, Aly, and her now-husband, Brandon.  It was a beautiful day in a gorgeous setting and today I commemorate that special occasion.

While combing through my stash to find products to use for a card, I came across two die sets that coordinated with Paper Pumpkin kits.  Did you know that every three months Stampin' UP! offers a new die set that will coordinate with three months of kits?  So cool!

Anyway, I found the Love of Spring dies (from January-February, March 2024) and the Spring is in the Air dies (from January-February-March 2025) that seemed a perfect start for my card.

Now do you ever make sketches to help you with your designs?  Although I don't use them often, occasionally I have an idea and try to sketch it out to solidify my card design.  And here is what I used for this one:

Do you see it?

I started with the heart-shaped die that cuts both a scalloped-edge heart AND the border.  I cut it from the Thoughtful Journey designer paper, and again in Blackberry Bliss, using the border to fit inside the heart.

This was layered over another piece of Thoughtful Journey DSP, and I added a few little flowers using another die in the set.

And since I had the border of the heart from the DSP, I added it to the inside of the card surrounding my sentiment.

And THIS is why I find it so hard to get rid of retired products!  I never know when they will be perfect for the next special card!  πŸ˜‰

Sending our very best wishes to Aly and Brandon!  Congratulations on 13 years; may you enjoy many more together!
