Gate Fold Grad Card

I have mentioned that I had two granddaughters graduating this month, one from high school (see my last post) and the other from college.  Today I'll show you the card I made for the college grad:

Izzie graduated from California State University at San Marcos.  The school colors are royal blue and white.  So I pulled some Blueberry Bushel card stock and went to town.

This is a gate-fold card; I started with a 5-1/2"x 8-1/2" piece of cardstock (Thick Basic White) and scored it at 2-1/8" from either end.  This gave me a standard-sized card that opens in the middle.  I wanted it to look like her gown.

Izzie wore a white collar (it actually had the word "management" on one side, which I free-handed later on the card), so after adding textured Blueberry Bushel strips to the two front sides, I adhered the white "collar".  This held the card closed, as the white circle slipped under each side.

To make the cap, I simply cut a small square of Basic Black, placed it as a "diamond" and added a tassel cut from one of the Birthday Celebrations dies.

The numbers were also cut with the Birthday Celebration dies using White cardstock on Foam Adhesive Sheets.

I used some old retired dies for the inside.

And once I thought I was done, I looked at a photo and realized she was wearing a lai, so I added one:

Sending congratulations and best wishes to Izzie as she awaits a call from a job interview...it even has benefits!  😊
