Such was the case last month when I needed a card for my Card Club. I had come across a card in the Stampin' Success magazine (a quarterly publication for Stampin' UP! demonstrators) and decided I wanted something similar. I had most of the "ingredients" available; but I need to change up the phrase to make it more versatile for my card club members. Here's the end product:
How cute is that? Simple, bright, happy and with lots of punch.
This is a Whisper White Thick Cardstock base with the "x"s from the set, Layered Letters, stamped in Pool Party ink (stamping off once).
Unfortunately I didn't yet have the new designer series paper, but I DID have some of last years version, so we cut out stars (in different colors) with the Stars Framelits and the Big Shot. This was adhered directly to the card and a strip of Pool Party, flagged on either end, was layered on top.
The letters were stamped on Whisper White cardstock in Versamark ink. They were heat-embossed with Clear Embossing Powder, then we stamped over the top with the rectangles from the set; wiping with a tissue leaves the embossed letters white - this is the Emboss Resist technique. The letters were cut out and popped up on Dimensionals.
The sentiment was stamped using a coordinating color to the star and we tied a piece of Whisper White Bakers Twine through a Vintage Faceted Button, which was added with a Mini Glue Dot.
Cute, huh?
Here's the original from Stampin' Success:
