Merry Monday and Knit Sweater

I have a lovely card for you today, but unfortunately, unless you purchased these products last year, you won't be able to recreate it.  But some of you have this set, so...

I was asked to make a few cards for the teachers of my Aqua Fitness classes.  So I pulled out some of my older, retired goodies to show them a little love again.

The background stamp used on this card is Knit Sweater.  It is currently available in the Annual Catalog.  It makes a great background when you want a warm and cuddly card, and I highly recommend it.

But what makes this card even cuter are the dies that retired - Knit Together.  I loved them, and have held on to them.  I love the way you can make your cards look like Argyle sweaters!

Now I know that we will need lots of space for signatures, so I made an extended card.  When first opened it looks like this:

I used the mitten from Celebrate with Tags and greetings from Framed and Festive.

Then it opens again:

Yup - lots of room for signatures!

To make this, I cut one sheet of Evening Evergreen cardstock in half to make two cards that measure       5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored in the middle at 4-1/4".  Then I layered one over the other, overlapping one panel in the middle and adhering them together, leaving me with a tri-fold card.

I know this will be a fun card to give, and there will be lots of room for everyone to sign it!

If you need an extra-large card, give this one a go!

Pop Up Presents

Last month I showed you a card with pop up presents inside, and was asked to create a video on how to make one.

So here you go:

This is a fun card to make and the person who receives your card is going to love it!  Have fun!

Sneak Peek - Seaside Bay

Ready for another sneak peek?  Today I have a card made with Seaside Bay and the By the Bay designer paper.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love the beach.  I'm NOT a "beach girl" in the sense of lying in the sand or swimming in the ocean.  But I love walking on the beach.  Growing up in Bayport, on Long Island, NY, we had a home that was just a very short walk to the beach.  So I spent many hours walking on the sand, watching the waves and listening to the sound of the rigging clanging on the aluminum masts of the sailboats docked behind our home on the canal.  Now creating with beach-themed stamp sets reminds me of home.

So when I saw the new Seaside Bay in the upcoming January - April 2023 Mini Catalog, it was first on my wish list.  And I finally had time to play:

The first thing I noticed when I opened the dies was a long piece that cuts the edge of the sand.  WOOT!  Not more ripping paper to get a nice, slightly wavy edge.  So I started with that.  I knew I wanted to feature a piece of the gorgeous patterned paper, so I just needed a short strip (Sahara Sand) along the bottom of my card.

I also used Blending Brushes to create an ocean and sky in the background, fading from Night of Navy to Balmy Blue - a subtle but striking background for the designer paper.

I framed my DSP with some Soft Suede embossed with the Timber embossing folder, cut in strips and mitered at the edge.

And then for the stamping - the teeny shells and bird were stamped, colored with a Blender Pen and cut with the coordinating dies.  And check out that surf!  I edged the sand with some Snowfall Accents Puff Paint!  Genius or what???

This was just my first try with this beautiful suite of products, but I am already thinking of ideas for my next play!

Sneak Peek - Sweet Citrus

So the upcoming January - April 2023 Mini Catalog is now available to demonstrators, and will be for customers on January 5th.  And I've finally gotten some time to start playing with my pre-ordered goodies.  So here's my first Sneak Peek:

Sweet Citrus!  A fun and juicy-looking stamp set that comes with a Hybrid Embossing Folder - embossing AND dies packaged and working together!  And what a joy to create with it all!

The large die actually fits inside the embossing folder; when you run it through the Cut & Emboss Machine it will cut out the images AND emboss them:

Look at that texture on the lemons!  I can almost taste the juice!

The stamps outlines are connected - the three outlines of the fruit pieces (lemon, oranges, grapefruit?) are connected.  I stamped them using the Stamparatus and Crushed Curry ink, then I used the (also connected) fruit insides with Daffodil Delight ink to finish them.  I lined up the dies, inserted it into the embossing folder (yes, the dies go right inside) and ran it through, cutting the lemons into 4 pieces that are embossed!  How cool!

I also ran a layer of Fresh Freesia through the embossing folder for a sweet, embossed background.

And inside?

Yup!  Another pop-up birthday card!  For this I used some new designer paper - Dandy Designs.  It's a fabulous host offering in the upcoming Sale-a-Bration brochure.  Yes!  Sale-a-Bration will be back in January, and this wonderful paper stack (48 sheets of 12 x 12 double sided paper!!!) is one of the items you can earn with a $100 purchase!  I love the colors!

I had a request to create a video on how to make the inside of this card, and I finished it today.  Come back on Friday for my "Friday Feature" and see how easy this is.

And for anyone who just can't wait to get their hands on new products, why not think about becoming a Stampin' UP! demonstrator?  Just $99 gets you a box of $125 worth of stamps, ink, paper, tools or embellishments - all your choice - AND you get FREE shipping!  You can just be a "happy shopper" and save at least 20% on every order, or you can sell to friends and family, enlist a team, and have a job doing what you love!  Click here to learn more.
