Blended Palms

I've been practicing with my Blending Brushes, and decided to try a very simple card:

I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock and placed two strips of Post-It Labeling Tape vertically about 1-1/2" apart, sticking them down well (this tape sticks securely but removes easily and cleanly).  Then I got busy with my Blending Brushes.

Starting at the bottom, I added some Sahara Sand ink.  Now when you use the Blending Brushes it's important to pick up the ink and then start making a small circular motion on a piece of scrap paper, then move the brush onto your cardstock.  This prevents a "blob" of ink and gives you a smooth color that is easy to blend.  I switched it up to a little bit of Daffodil Delight before blending into Bermuda Bay.  And I finished with a little Balmy Blue.  But it's hard to see the transition - and that's the beauty of the Blending Brushes!

Once I was happy with my colors I carefully peeled away my Post-It Tape, leaving a nice clean line between the white and colored portions of the page.

It was easy to add a little "sand" and the palm trees from Timeless Tropical, and then a greeting.

Using the Blending Brushes made a very simple card look difficult!  Give them a try!

My Guest Stamper

I, like I'm sure many of you, am missing my grandkids!  Although they don't all live near enough to visit regularly, I still like the thought of being able to visit when I want.  And because of these unusual circumstances, I can't.  So I'm making cards to send, like this one:

A few of my grandsons are dinosaur lovers, so I thought this would be appropriate for one household.  The Dino Days stamps and Dino dies had enough dinosaurs to make one for each child.  I even labeled them so there wouldn't be any fighting over them!  😄

After stamping and cutting them out, I added them to a Whisper White Stitched Rectangle, but I needed to fill in the back, so I cut a few of the Timeless Tropical palm trees with the In The Tropics dies.  And mounted it all to some of the Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper.

Now little Charlotte, who is 3, just sent me a card that she made.  As the "stay at home" orders began coming out, I knew that my daughter-in-law would need help with 4 kids under 9 years old.  So I packed up a full box of card bases, lots of punched pieces, and a whole bunch of retired bling, and sent it off with instructions to send cards to friends and family member whom they can't see right now.   And I got this:

She got a little help with the printing from her mom, but she did this all herself.  Look at the inside:

There's even a picture of Charlotte and me!  L.O.V.E!

And the back:

And here she is: Charlotte, creating her card:

I heard that the flower and dot embellishments made great stick-on earrings for Charlotte and her little sister, Matilyn (age 18 months).  😁

I miss my little Charlotte (and her sister and brothers!), but am stayin' in touch through Stampin'.  How about you?
