Painterly Pears

Do you have a tendency to hoard your pretty paper?  Do you have a piece that you just can't bear to cut in to?  Well today's Challenge is perfect for you - "Use the Special Paper".

And that's just what I did:

The beautiful Painterly Pears designer paper has a 12" x 12" sheet with an all-around border of pears and flowers.  While perfect for scrapbooking, this piece can also be cut for card fronts.

I cut the paper to 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" and mounted it to a layer of Petal Pink.

After stamping a greeting from Impressions Abloom in Misty Moonlight, I tied a knot of Petal Pink ribbon and adhered it to a Misty Moonlight base with Dimensionals.  All it needed was a few Rainbow Dots in Petal Pink.

Go ahead; use the special paper.  It makes stunning cards in minutes, and you'll feel so good for using it!

Impressions Abloom

I held my in-person card classes last weekend, and we made a lovely birthday card using the Impressions Abloom bundle (stamps and dies).

I rarely use Crumb Cake as a base (or for anything for that matter) but I had seen a beautiful card by Gail Ellis and knew this would be perfect for my card.

We stamped the flowers in two colors - Pretty in Pink with Strawberry Slush for the inside.  The coordinating dies made it easy to cut them out.

Do you see that oval?  Two actually?  Cut with dies from the bundle, they nest together beautifully.  The bottom layer is Secret Sea, with an embossed oval on top in Crumb Cake.

And check out the Basic White layer!  That's the Corrugated Embossing Folder, which adds so much texture.

A pretty card that everyone loved!

Two-Tone Cardstock

Did you know that Stampin' UP! is bringing out two-tone cardstock in all colors?  Yes!  Starting with the new 2025-2026 Annual Catalog, this 12" x 12" cardstock will be available in 50 colors!  Wowsa!

Two-tone cardstock is exactly what it sounds like - one side is the true Stampin' UP! color (like Real Red) and when you flip it over, it's a lighter shade.  There is a white core, so if the cardstock is ripped, you will see white along the edges.  It can also be sanded to let the white show through the color.  Neat!

So to introduce this to my customers, we used it in class this past weekend.

Take a look at the card on the right; it's one I made while attending Stampin' UP!'s OnStage convention last week:

I decided to step it up a bit for my class attendees.  Instead of a Granny Apple Green card base, we used a piece of Basic Black Two-Tone cardstock, cut to 5-1/2" x 7-3/4" and scored at 4-1/4".  This left a 3/4" strip on the right side, where you can see the lighter tone of black.

The flowers from Impressions Abloom (a new stamp set coming in the OnLine Exclusives in May) were stamped in new In Colors, Strawberry Slush, Timid Tiger and Darling Duckling, with Secret Sea centers.  We also added some Granny Apple Green leaves.

But here you can see the lighter shade of black on the right side of the card.  It's a great way to add a little extra interest to your creations!

Basic Black Two-tone cardstock is available now; the other colors will be available starting May 4th.  The hardest part will be deciding which colors to get first!

Sample from OnStage

When I attended Stampin' UP!'s OnStage convention last week I received a new stamp set and was able to create with it using some of the new In Colors.

The Impressions Abloom bundle will be available through the OnLine Exclusives in early May.  And it is such a versatile and fun set.  With flowers in different sizes it will be fun to create lovely floral cards.

The sample I was SUPPOSED to make called for a Timid Tiger card base with white panels on top.  But with such a small area of Timid Tiger showing, I opted to cheat and make the white my card base, cutting strips of Timid Tiger to lay over the top.  After all, I only received 4 sheets of Timid Tiger - why would I waste a full half sheet on a card with only two little strips showing?  ðŸ˜‰

I got to use some new In Colors - Strawberry Slush, Timid Tiger and Darling Duckling, along with Granny Apple Green (which I stamped off first to create lighter-colored leaves and flower stems).  And the greetings were stamped with Secret Sea, a beautiful new color that is a deep blue/black, almost charcoal- like.  It may be my favorite new color!

My box of pre-ordered goodies arrives today, and I can't wait to start playing with more of these colors!

Impressions Abloom will be released in early May, at the same time as the new Annual Catalog kicks off.  If you are a regular customer of mine, you will be receiving a new Annual Catalog in the mail around mid-April.  If you would like to order one, please contact me and I can tell you how to get one for FREE!
