A Book Tree

The new January - April 2025 Mini Catalog will be live before we know it, and I've just received my pre-order of fun stamps, dies, gorgeous paper and accessories.  But when I saw a card posted by Jo Weeden Melbourne using one of the new stamps I got, For the Books, I knew I just had to recreate it for my book club members:

How's that for using a stamp set in a different way?  Who would have thought that a stack of books could make a cute Christmas tree?

I stamped the books, masking the ones on the bottom and re-stamping them side by side.  The star at the top is from Decorative Trees (on the retiring list - get it before it's gone!).  Then I colored them all with Blends.

The greeting is from Reindeer Fun (another set soon to be retired) using Shy Shamrock ink.

And that shiny paper?  There is a reason I keep stuff in my stash long after it's no longer available - and now you are seeing why; this was from a pack of Red and Green Foil sheets, and I can't even tell you when it was in a catalog, it's been that long!  But it was the perfect "foil" (no pun intended) for a layer on my card.

The January - April 2025 Mini Catalog will be ready for your orders soon.  Need a catalog?  Just let me know.  I'd love to get one into your hands!

Gate-Fold Slider for Merry Monday

Here's a fun fold card featuring the new Decorative Trees stamps and dies:

It opens down the middle, and is held closed by a panel with a "secret" closure.  The panel slides off the card to open it:

Let's look at the mechanism and then I'll show you the inside.

I started by cutting 4 two-inch squares.

Two were folded in half

and adhered to a third square with the openings facing out:

Then the fourth one was adhered on top:

This leaves two side openings that slide over the front of the card.

The front was decorated with Take a Bow designer paper.  The panel was cut with the Radiating Stitches dies and I added one of the Decorative Trees die cuts.

And inside:

Plenty of room to add a greeting or write to your friends and family.

Give this fun fold a try!

More Than Merry Monday

More Than Autumn, a new stamp and die set in the September - December 2024 Mini Catalog, is perfect for all your fall-themed cards.  But what about Christmas?  Can it cross-over?

Yes!

Just combine it with Christmas trees from Decorative Trees, add a fun background paper, and some hot chocolate, and you've got all the makings of a Hallmark Christmas card!  ðŸ˜„

First the trees - using just the dies from the Decorative Trees bundle, I cut two trees (one in Granny Apple Green and the other in Garden Green) then used the opposite colors to cut the decorative overlays.

One thing to know - the basic tree is larger than the overlays.  I just adhered the top piece and trimmed off the bottom of the tree.  There is a die to create two different sizes of tree trunks, so you won't be missing anything.

And see those little ball ornaments?  I created those with the Pearlized Enamel Effects in Real Red.

And then there's that little cup of hot chocolate!  Cut with the More Than Autumn dies and decorated with a little "sleeve" of the background paper (Take A Bow DSP), a tiny gingerbread man and a candy cane, this cup is adorable!

All pieces were mounted on Basic White cardstock over a Garden Green die-cut of the Perennial Postage dies.

And don't overlook the little Red and White Adhesive-Backed Peppermints!  Those little embellishments will make all your holiday cards shine!

Decorative Trees for Merry Monday

Have you seen the new September - December 2024 Mini Catalog yet?  Lots of fun products to assist you with holiday card making or scrapbooking.  And today I have a quick sample to show you.

Decorative Trees is an upcoming bundle, with stamps and dies of Christmas trees. There is one outline of a tree stamp, and another adds "branches" to the inside.  But the dies are really great!  There are 7 trees in all, with lots of ways to decorate them.

I had my first play:

I love that tree!  It's Granny Apple Green with Garden Green branches stamped on top.  And cut with the outline of the tree die.  The dies also include several ways to decorate - I used the balls, bows and star, but there are garlands in various sizes as well.

And did you see the background paper?  That is the Take a Bow DSP, with 48 sheets of paper in reds and greens.  I"m going to use the entire pack!

Have you received your September - December 2024 Mini Catalog yet?  If you have placed an order with me in the past 6 months, you should be receiving a complimentary copy any day.  Ordering starts September 4th, so prepare your lists - some of these items will sell out fast!
