This is It!

Today is the final day of Sale-a-Bration!  If you haven't placed your qualifying order you have just hours to do it and to choose some fun FREE gifts from Stampin' UP!

To demonstrate just how fun these products are, take a look at this bright and cheery card:

I used two Sale-a-Bration gifts on this card:  Dots & Spots die and Amazing Phrasing stamps.

Check out that (blurry) sparkle!  I stamped the words using Orchid Oasis ink and immediately stamped again using Versamark (thank you Stamparatus!).  Then I added some Clear Embossing Powder and heat embossed the words.

And look at that cool background!  That is done with the Dots & Spots die, a single die that cuts polka dots in your cardstock.  By placing a coordinating or contrasting color behind it you can add some color and cheer to your cards.  To get this die for FREE, be sure to use the special Sale-a-Bration code:  163098.

You've seen it before and you'll see it again (and again!) - the little candle is an extra die (actually three dies) in the Sentiment Silhouettes set.  I love creating these in colors to match my card!

So be sure to get in on these amazing FREE products - place your qualifying order before 11 p.m. Pacific time TONIGHT!  Once this sale is over, this FREE offer will disappear forever!

Home Again

Where have I been?  If you've been following my Priscilla's Papercrafts Facebook page, you know that I have spent the last 5 days in New Orleans at the Stampin' UP! Backstage Leadership Conference.  I had a great time connecting with new friends after 3 years without an in-person event.  And I learned a lot!

I also picked up a few gifts for friends.  One of the most popular ideas was a mini-bottle of Pralines and Cream Liqueur.  And before I give it away, I decided to package it in one of the cute Embossed Treat Bags.  These little bags are perfect for small treats or gifts, and can be decorated in different ways.

Here's one:

Easy - tie it up with a ribbon (or three!) and add a tag!

This tag uses one of the FREE Sale-a-Bration stamp sets - Amazing Phrasing.  Sale-a-Bration is coming to an end (just two more days!) and I'd hate for you to miss out!  I stamped "WOO HOO!" using Tuxedo Black ink, and cut it out with a Tailor Made Tags die.  Then I used "just for you" from Charming Sentiments and cut it with the Sentiment Silhouettes dies and popped it up on a Dimensional.

And no - the alligator is NOT a Stampin' UP! product.  It's a little sticker I got at the airport on the way home.  It reminded me that I actually ATE alligator while in New Orleans!  Yikes!  One of those things I never thought I would eat...in fact I didn't even know there was such a thing as Fried Alligator, or Alligator Sausage - did you?

But I digress...

Once the tag was adhered to the bag I simply tied it up with a few ribbons, and it's ready to gift.

What could be easier?

Remember to get in on Sale-a-Bration!  Only two days left!  And check out the Embossed Treat Bags - I think you'll love them!

40 Years!

My sister and her husband are celebrating 40 years of wedded bliss.  Well, maybe not bliss all the time, 😉but they HAVE had a good 40 years together.

But...40 years?  Where does the time go?

Instead of making a card full of hearts and flowers, I decided to create something totally out of my comfort zone - a card without a stamped image as a focal point.  Look:

Now is that a celebration in a card or what?

Of course, you probably have already guessed that I am in love with the Rays of Light background stamp. I've created with it a few times in the past two weeks.  But those were all "summer" cards, and the stamp was used to mimic sunshine.

Not this card!  It's shouting 40 YEARS!

I first stamped the Rays of  Light using Pale Papaya ink.  I saw a color combination (thanks, Brian King!) with Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen, and I loved it!

Then, using the Stamparatus, I started stamping the words with Evening Evergreen ink.  Why the Stamparatus?  Let me count the ways:

    1.  Two of the words ("to" and "years") were not individual words.  And I only had one chance to get them right.  The stamps are from the Sale-a-Bration FREE set, Amazing Phrasing, and the phrases I used are "to another year", "I miss you" and "together".  So I placed the "to another year" on the paper where I wanted it, picked it up with the Stamparatus, and only inked "to".  I repeated it with "year", and then I lined up the second "s" in "I miss you", inked only that one letter, and stamped it at the end of "year" - clever, huh?

    2.  I wanted to ensure the words were stamped well.  Using the Stamparatus allowed me to stamp the image again (it's all lined up perfectly) so when one of the letters didn't come out exactly right, I just stamped it again.

    3.  Look at "Woo Hoo" -

I wanted to heat emboss it with Clear Embossing Powder in order to make it shiny.  It's easy with the Stamparatus - stamp the image in the color (Evening Evergreen), then clean the stamp, re-ink it with Versamark ink and stamp right over the original image.  Easy Peasy!  Then you can add the embossing powder, heat it up, and Woo Hoo - shiny!!

Aren't those colors divine?  An Evening Evergreen base with a 2021-23 In Color Designer Series Paper pattern in Soft Succulent.  And then another layer of Evening Evergreen, cut with the Deckled Rectangles dies (as is the main, top layer).

A shout out to my sister and her husband - celebrate away!  Happy Anniversary!
