Retiring Colors

Believe it or not, it's nearly time to say good-bye to some of our In Colors!  I usually get a little sad about that, but I have had some difficulty using the 2023-25 In Colors overall, and am looking forward to seeing some new ones.

But...that's not to say that I won't miss a few of these.  I have an interesting color combo for you today; I'm not even sure I like it.  But it's growing on me.  Tell me what you think:

So Gray Granite and Moody Mauve will be retiring in April.  I decided to pair these with Soft Sea Foam, another color I rarely reach for.  But I feel like this did make an interesting color combination for this card.

I started by running the Soft Sea Foam through the Changing Leaves hybrid embossing folder, giving me some wonderful texture.

Then I stamped and watercolored the large leaf pattern, using Moody Mauve and my Water Painters.  I do like how that came out.

After cutting it with the die, I also cut a few sprigs and placed them all on the card.

The greeting was stamped in Gray Granite and layers cut with the Everyday Arches dies (a new favorite!).

So what are your thoughts?  Should I have used a brighter background?  Different color for the leaves?  Or do you like it just the way it is?

The jury is still out for me...but I did enjoy a play with a few soon-to-be-retired colors, and that felt good!
