A Valentine and a Sneak Peek

To say that I've gotten lucky in love would be an understatement.  I truly hit the jackpot when it came to finding a life partner!

Imagine, if you will, needing someone to help you put on your underwear in the morning.  Or help take off your slippers.  Lift up your leg for you, pull you off the couch...I could go on.  But I bet you get the picture.

After a total hip replacement last week, I've been somewhat helpless.  Now that isn't to say that I can't do anything for myself, but there are things I just can't do yet.  (see paragraph above)

So when I finally got into my craft room for the first time in a week (which is actually pretty remarkable after the surgery I've had!) the first card I wanted to make was one for my husband, who has been by my side for 50 years and is still there - without complaining (although I DID see an eye roll the other day 😠).

I woke up thinking about this card:

Really!  I actually woke up this morning thinking about this card!  So I had to make it!

Now you may see a few things that you haven't seen before - do you notice that textured background?  That's the new Mini Corrugated embossing folder that will be available for purchase next month in the OnLine Exclusives (of course if you care to sign up and become a demo - and why wouldn't you? - you can get it now during the pre-order!)

This square card measures 5-1/2" x 5-1/2".  I laid out my elements and realized I needed a slightly larger card than normal.  The white embossed layer is 5-3/8" x 5-3/8".

Then there's that heart!  Hand cut from some Marbled Elegance designer paper (also in the OnLine Exclusives).

I happened to have all those letters in a little box - the Mini Alphabet dies cut the entire alphabet (with duplicates of some of the more popular letters) and I had cut a bunch of red letters for Christmas.  I love being able to use up some of my stash!

And then there's those little keys!  OMG - LOVE!  they are from a new set of dies, Tags to Go, coming next month.  The dies are part of a suite of products that is going to be so much fun for vacation memories or gift-giving, along with card-making!

And I finished it all off with some gold sequins.

I'll be letting my hubs know that he really does hold the keys to my heart!
